Life Through a Gardener's Lens…. To Begin With…. Every year is different but it seems that the yellow onions, the carrots and the beans were the best growers this last year. Also grew some good peas and some spectacular Bok Choy and Red Mustard. Greens are a favorite of the household and go into stir fries or steamed with a little vinegar and butter for a special treat. 10 responses to this post. On May 4, 2013 at 7:13 pm. Thursday, Apr 30 2015. There are, of course, many things to keep one up at night. I don’t usually post about the house here, only the garden and the odd bit of history. That is mostly due to requests by various family members. The house is a nice house, a bit too sprawling perhaps with an eclectic interior. It has a lot of family heritage in it, quite complete. Pink Oak! «Acair Fearann Acair Fearann

Thursday, May 7 2015. No not ‘pin’. Actually, this is our baby white oak. A carefully found (that took a bit of doing thanks to the high deer population) offspring of the big white oaks down below the Royal Oak pasture. When I dug it up several years ago, it was about six inches tall with a tap root deeper than the shovel. Careful excavation was required. You will observe the fence and the white flag (deer repellent). A Garden for All. A Garden of Possibilities. Arthur in the garden. CT Street Tree list.
