Gardens, Crafts n More

Gardens, Crafts n More. Tuesday, 17 November 2015. A Hike to the Lookout! The view from my front yard. Beautiful blue sky! In the winter where I live, it can be overcast and gray and drizzly 90% of the time. or at least it seems so. Needless to say, last Sunday, when it turned out to be such a sunny day, I decided to take advantage of the fact! After church, Cody and I took a hike up to the Lookout. I haven't been there since I was in my early teens - before proper trails or roads went up to the top!

Gardens, Crafts n More: For my Mom

http://gardenscraftsnmore.blogspot.com/2014/01/for-my-mom.html

Gardens, Crafts n More. Monday, 13 January 2014. My mom is in hospice, and my sister and I have been blessed to be able to spend some time during these last final days she has left. she is still with us, but I wrote a poem for her that I thought I'd share - - I tend to like to write poetry when I'm upset or facing my fears. Of things they hold dear. Things they have done. Where they are going. Where they've come from. The joy and the sorrow. Of the final goodbyes. For the peace obtained. 365 Days of Fifty.

Gardens, Crafts n More: November 2013

http://gardenscraftsnmore.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Gardens, Crafts n More. Wednesday, 27 November 2013. A Warm Thank You Card. One of the first quilt blocks I ever made with my sister was a Maltese Flower Cross, hand appliqued quilt square we did for a block of the month in the Quadra Island Quilters group we belong to. I thought it made a very festive looking block that using Christmas colors would fit right into being a Christmas thank you card! Here is where I got the inspiration! Cross the green stems, corner to corner and centered…. Arrange the gold...

Gardens, Crafts n More: September 2013

http://gardenscraftsnmore.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Gardens, Crafts n More. Tuesday, 24 September 2013. Anyway, here are almost all of the pictures that I took in Venice. A view of the Grand Canal. One of the many small canals. I wish I would have got a different angle of this street light. It was a dragon like creature holding two umbrellas that formed a globe around the lamp. And my favorite picture, which is not scenery at all. This image greeted me when I lifted the lid at one restaurant we visited in Venice :-) It definitely made me smile :-). We saw...

Gardens, Crafts n More: You are in my heart Mom

http://gardenscraftsnmore.blogspot.com/2014/09/you-are-in-my-heart-mom.html

Gardens, Crafts n More. Monday, 8 September 2014. You are in my heart Mom. Today my family laid our Mother's ashes to rest with her Mom. Mom had died last January, and we were waiting for a time that all the family could be there. It was a simple, heartfelt farewell. I read the story that to me summed my mothers life up from:. Http:/ ldsparenting.blogspot.ca/2012/09/motherhood-journey-poem.html? I've seen the poem before, but it still broke my heart to read it for Mom for this last time. The children cli...

365 days of Fifty. Photo reflections of my life at fifty. Tuesday, July 31, 2012. July 31 Victoria mural pictures. I just had to take pictures of them! And of course, a picture of the Empress Hotel, where I want to stay for our 25th wedding anniversary that is coming up next spring. The lilies in the garden are starting to bloom, just as the rain is starting again. (The beads of raindrops look neat on the blooms). Saturday, July 28, 2012. July 24 - 26 Hectic, scary times. 365 days of Fifty. Photo reflections of my life at fifty. Tuesday, July 24, 2012. July 24 - Who’d have thought? I’ve let some biennials go to seed this year - the Red Russian Kale, and Parsley. I never thought that parsley would have such a lovely fragrance! I’ve also enjoyed seeing the different types of bugs that are pollinating them. Below: I don’t know what type of flies were pollinating the parsley, but they sure let me get close with my camera to take this picture! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

365 days of Fifty: This year was not what I expected it to be

http://365fifty.blogspot.com/2013/01/this-year-was-not-what-i-expected-it-to.html

365 days of Fifty. Photo reflections of my life at fifty. Monday, January 14, 2013. This year was not what I expected it to be. I've been looking at this blog, and felt I had to explain the lack of posts. I had such aspirations when I started this blog on my birthday last year. For a fiftieth year, the most monumental, heart-breaking thing happened. My husband of 24 years was diagnosed with stage 3B lung cancer the beginning of August. Day by day I am learning to walk alone. June 15, 2013 at 7:53 PM.

http://365fifty.blogspot.com/2012/07/july-8th-walk-in-woods.html

365 days of Fifty. Photo reflections of my life at fifty. Monday, July 9, 2012. July 8th - A walk in the woods. Cody and I spent an hour or so doing a circle walk from home to Evergreen, cut through to the ERT road, and cut through to Homewood and then the power station and home. I was amazed at how muddy some of the trails were still, mind you, its only really been nice for four days now. Lots of Mountain Ash berries! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
