http://raighne.blogspot.com/2011/02/2-portraits.html
Wednesday, February 2, 2011. These are two quick portraits I did for some friends. One of them is VERY LATE (like 2 years or something. yikes! I felt compelled to do them as my wife had some left over paint from a recent commission. It's really nice painting again. Labels: Noah Van Sciver. I never get tired of looking at pictures of cats. Drawmit!: Richard Scarry's Lowly the Worm.
http://nicholasstraight.blogspot.com/2013/07/richard-scarrys-lowly-worm.html
Tuesday, July 23, 2013. Richard Scarry's Lowly the Worm. Many of Richard's works have left an indelible watermark on me. Scarry's influence is still in the recesses of my mind. buried in my own art. It made me uneasy, how could a worm get that big? It opened up my mind. that things in the world that you perceived to be true, and concrete. can change on you on a dime. Life is full of surprises, I plan on making a few of my own. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). St Paul, Minnesota, United States.

http://nicholasstraight.blogspot.com/2013/07/thun-bleats-war-cry-drink-and-be-merry.html
Saturday, July 27, 2013. Thün Bleats a War Cry: "Drink, and be merry. fools! A magic idea was brought to my attention via email earlier this week. Drew Brockington http:/ brockart.4ormat.com/. A fantastic cartoonist, and recent transplant to the Twin Cities. He suggested a group of us should go to Manning's (Como Ave.) to drink hootch and draw some art. It was an outstanding idea! The Bearded Soy-Milk-Elf Express: focus
http://raighne.blogspot.com/2011/08/focus.html
Friday, August 26, 2011. I've been away for a spell. I am thinking of making an attempt to make more fiberous posts and to pop them out with more regularity. But, as we all know, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Ahh well. This piece was illustrated for the 99$ Sale. At the Soap Factory. I started it in black and white and then coloured it via watered down acrylics. In all likely-hood, I should have just left it alone in black and white as I like that version better. The Book of Bartholomew.

http://raighne.blogspot.com/2011/12/dogs.html
Friday, December 2, 2011. Putting out our last book of the year in a week or two - this a page from my contribution to the weird zine/comic/calendar/book/thing. We have a pretty sweet roster to the thing too - I'm pretty excited for it! If you threw down 25$ or more on the Kickstarter. For Motherlover you will be getting this before anybody. I'm also thinking of ending this blog and starting something new. I miss making marks so am going to try to do more of that in the new year. Is a bearded soy-milk elf.

http://raighne.blogspot.com/2011/01/nanny-is-too-literal.html
Tuesday, January 4, 2011. The Nanny is Too Literal. I just did a write-up on my convoluted process of providing illustrations for Mark Granlund. S Book of Bartholomew. Over at Itchy Keen. I do not think I will be taking on any more commissions for 2011- I just can't hack it (plus I am already overbooked on my own projects and publishing plans). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). http://fancy-graphics.blogspot.com/2012/08/done-with-dc-zinfest-off-to-philly.html
Tuesday, August 7, 2012. Done with DC Zinfest, off to Philly! DC Zinefest was super! Photo by Trebro, http:/ www.flickr.com/photos/28022418@N06/. Everyone who put it on did a great job; there was wonderful food from Everlasting Life, a vegan cafe in DC, and ample air conditioning. Gay Kid 4 did really well! Here's the cover and page 1, just to get you jazzed in case you missed it:. So, now that Gay Kid 4 has gotten it's first showing, it's off to Philly! I'll be tabling at the Philly Feminist Zinefest.
