Gayle Ortiz: June 2015
http://gayleygirl.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 28, 2015. Several years ago I made and sold textile necklaces, collars really, to a sweet little shop in Carmel, California. Findings was tucked back off the street so you had to know about it or wander back exploring to find it. Nancy King sold fabrics, buttons, ribbons and other new and vintage findings that were perfectly chosen. It was a beautifully curated shop. But alas, it's no more. Many of us still mourn it's passing. A year and a half ago at a Design Outside The Lines. The pieces b...

http://gayleygirl.blogspot.com/2015/07/bunkhouse-roundup.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2015. The Bunkhouse is what we call the little cottage next to our home. I use it for my workspace and it also serves as our guest quarters. It's a sweet little 500 Sq. Ft. beach cottage, single wall construction so in the summer it's baking in there. But I have managed to slide in a few sewing days so far this summer. So we moseyed on over to Fabrix. On the same street. So, I convinced myself this fabric was a madras.yeah, it was a stretch. And I don't usually wear such brigh...I ins...

Sewing a First Communion Dress

Modern Quilting and Paper Piecing. Sewing a First Communion Dress. April 27, 2014. My daughter received her First Communion today. Long before I had children, I dreamed of making them dresses for their First Communions. My oldest child is a boy so this was my first chance! Mind you, I did have fun dressing him in a suit too but it wasn’t something I had dreamed about! My daughter knows what she likes and what she doesn’t so I didn’t have complete design control! April 27, 2014 at 5:38 pm. Satin is so tri...

Amazing Adventures: September 2014
http://jaycie622.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tales from an overloaded mind. Monday, September 22, 2014. In the Minds Archives. This morning on my way to work I was trying to remember today's date. I could remember that the Thursday while we were on vacation was 9/11. The Thursday after that would have been the 18th, plus Friday, Saturday, Sunday made today's date the 22nd. But to not know leaves holes in one's soul. Would my life be different if I knew it was a loving relationship? That's my greatest wish/dream/fantasy. To feel loved. Subscribe to ...

Afterwards Elaine Sweet invited us back to her house where her wonderful husband made us a chocolate cake and some home made ice cream- seriously delicious. Great pictures Mary&#...
