The area in fact boasted nothing more than a cluster of little wooden buildings – a bar/restaurant of sorts, several bungalows, and for us latecomers a shack which unfortunately had big gaps between the slacks to let all the insects in. Stretches for many kilometers, radiating outwards from North and South Head, the two sides of the entrance to the Harbour itself. The Sydney commuter ferries run an extensive network of ferry options. A particularly good walk is one up and over North Head.
