Playing with food, fabric and thread. Monday, 6 July 2015. Oh I do like to be beside the seaside. Oh yes, I really do! But before the summer holidays begin, I really must wrap up the teaching year. I promised to post these photos many many weeks ago, so without further ado, here are the amaaaazing seascapes we stitched in class at the beginning of the summer term - some finished, some not quite:. What a fantastic bunch of work - it was a bit of a trial run for my Missenden Abbey Summer School course.

Here are some examples of my work and commissions:. Lsquo;Home Sweet Home’ one off instillation piece. Lsquo;Home Sweet Home’ is an oversized embroidered book, an instillation piece. The work is a part of a collaborative project with Studio 21 members called ‘Continuum - a sense of place’. I graduated in 2007 with a Diploma of Higher Education in Stitched Textiles (Distinction). Awarded the Embroiderers Guild Scholarship 2009-10 and in 2012, nominated as a Member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen. My work is seen in many publications and magazines. I am a visiting tutor at West Dean College, Chichester and have had invites to exhibit and teach both nationally and internationally. I provide textile and artistic workshop days for Guilds, Textile Groups, Schools and enthusiasts. This has taken me to all corners of the country and indeed abroad. Now, however, I am also providing these workshops within my own home studio in Westcott, a village near Dorking, Surrey. A fun day of creative work with friends can be arranged. I can take a minimum of 4 students and a maximum of 8. Off street parking is available. Mainline station is Dorking. Lsquo;From Art to Stitch’.
