There is no online menu for the Halfway House (when we visited at least), and I'm the type who likes to study a menu before arriving, but it was actually quite a nice treat to turn up not knowing what would be offered. About Katie's Restaurant Guide. The Coastguard, St Margaret's Bay. We visited The Coastguard on a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy. The restaurant area inside is quite small, and was fully reserved so we sat outside. Luckily the weather held out! We still received table service, we didn't have to order at the bar. About Katie's Restaurant Guide. The Dove - Dargate. I've passed this place several times on the way to other pubs and have always wanted to try it out, so we went here for Sunday lunch. The weather was horrible when we visited, and coming in to a warm fire and friendly service was lovely. The Sunday menu was the only one on offer, I chose the beef, which of course came with roast potatoes (roasted in duck fat), root vegetables, a huge Yorkshire pudding and gravy.
