I really wish I had been interested in American Idol in 2006 to have seen Mandisa then and follow her journey, but I have really enjoyed reading all about it in her book. Recently she spoke out about her faith. In a similar way, the Duggars on 19 Kids and Counting. Check out Mandisa's music video of Overcome HERE. December 3, 2013 at 9:33 PM. And God received glory because of it!

I have been looking through my old pictures today being thankful that my files were recovered by my amazing brother in law Jeff- after my computer recently crashed. I found these two pictures of Faye and Owen and it made me realize how much Luke is taking after Faye. Do you agree? I had forgotten how light Owen's hair was. These kids are growing up too fast, I really miss the baby stage with my older two. Faye, Age 11.

Finding beauty in everyday life. Thursday, November 21, 2013. I am so amazed at how much my children have grown in character from simply having chores to do. Over the summer we started talking about adding more responsibility for Faye and Owen (age 11 and 7) and what that would look like. We let the kids give their input as well. In the past, Faye had a few chores that she did to earn a profit at the end of the week. Training for each chore would be given so that the child would know the expectations.

As we were talking the thought came to my mind about what I was thinking about during dinner that night. My family was enjoying a meal of spaghetti with a recipe that I've made many, many times. As we were eating and talking about the day I was thinking about what spice was missing from the sauce. There was just something missing and I couldn't figure it out. I still. Don't know what was missing! Owen, Age 8.

For the sake of my conscience tonight, update I will. We went to Riverside State park yesterday and it was gorgeous! Cold, but beautiful! AndSigmund is 3 months old! Monday, June 21, 2010. Sammy had to have his tonsils and adenoids out last week. They were so large the poor kid was having a hard time breathing. He did great! It was also surprisingly fast. We arrived at 7:00 am and were home by 10:30 am! He was such a trooper the day of his surgery and continues to be as he heals! Here are a few pics. Waiting for the nurse to bring him back for surgery. One last peek at those tonsils! Silly faces to pass the time. Surely playing with my ship will help distract me!

A time such as this. Tuesday, April 6, 2010. French toast with pumpkin- Excellent! I found some raisin bread in the back of my bread box and that with pure maple syrup on top was fabulous. I am noticing a funny pattern developing. Andrew likes to help be cook. When I get the purees out of the freezer he wrinkles his nose and says, " Eeewwwww. Gross I would never eat that." Then he helps me pour it into the batter. He stirs. I bake. Viola! By that because usually my kids don't/won't eat mashed potatoes.
