The anxiety of influence. Since this is Thursday and I'm trying to slowly get back into a groove of regular writing, I'm supposed to write about something music related. I don't have much to say about them, but I'm really enjoying the band We Are Scientists. As of late. I heard their song, "Let's See It," on WXPN and it was immediate wonder. Give them a listen, let's hope you'll like it. On to bigger and better news. Links to this post. The Buddha of Suburbia. The Buddha of Suburbia. Anyway, I've been a ...

The anxiety of influence. John McCain has unrolled a new feature on his website: Pork Invaders! Hearkening back to the early days of video games (and John McCain's middle-age years), this game allows the players to assume to role of 'maverick' and shoot down dastardly pork barrel spending projects designed to fund roads and schools and other intergalactic war worthy tragedies. John McCain, unrelenting in his efforts to stay on top of his technological game. Links to this post. Neither refused the meeting...

the anxiety of influence: Graduate Study Lounge
http://theanxietyofinfluence.blogspot.com/2008/11/graduate-study-lounge.html
The anxiety of influence. What brought me to write this post is the way students refuse to share the room. There are over one thousand graduate students at West Chester University and, based on a terribly unscientific poll, only a small portion of those students are aware that the graduate study lounge exists. I trust this is the case because those that know about it guard the secret of it like a middle school crush. I may never understand people but at least they're fun to watch. View my complete profile.

The anxiety of influence. Treasury Secretary of Fight Club? Whenever stories mention the name of Henry Paulson, the current U.S. Treasury Secretary who is begging Congress to bail out our free market, I can't help but thing of Meat Loaf in the film Fight Club. I am fully aware that they are not at all related and that Robert Paulson is, indeed, a character of fiction from the mind if Chuck Palahniuk, but I can't shake the link in my mind. Here is Wallis' response. James Dobson, you owe America an apology. The fictional letter released through your Focus on the Family Action organization, titled “Letter From 2012 in Obama’s America”. The anxiety of influence. Arbitrary List to Determine Your Literacy! The average American has read only 6 of the books listed below. If you are so inclined, copy the list, bold the ones you've read and italicize that ones you're currently reading or plan to in the future. Personally, I feel the list is too Austen-heavy and lacks much modern/contemporary literature. I could go into a discussion of the canon, but that's for another day. I've read only 16. There's a lot of work to be done. 28 Grapes of Wrat...

Politics, Humor and Life at Harding. Posted by: Andrew W. English. February 9, 2009. Got Money fer Books? I’m pretty sure everyone has been watching the news about this thing they call a stimulus bill. As a political science and economics major, I have no idea what that is, but I read some of it. (I’m a nerd who couldn’t sleep) And as a student, I kind of wanted to know how this thing would affect me, Joe the student. I don’t know why anyone would read the blue book in the picture. I thought it...You are...
