Life Outside the Shell: The Day I Tried

http://www.lifeoutsidetheshell.com/2014/06/the-day-i-tried.html

Tuesday, June 24, 2014. The Day I Tried. I took the kids to a water park today and we had a blast! I was planning to blog with some fun pictures of them but The Lord put on my heart to let my 7 year old daughter, Ellie, give her perspective of our day. Ellie had an "outside of her shell" moment today that I feel will inspire and encourage you. The day I tried by ellie Gilbert. Today I went to a water park and I swam. here is a picture of Me and my brother and sister. I said no because I am scared. I am s...

Life Outside the Shell: Lead Where You Are

http://www.lifeoutsidetheshell.com/2015/07/lead-where-you-are.html

Monday, July 6, 2015. Lead Where You Are. For some, the word “leader” can bring feelings of purpose and confidence. For others, it can bring feelings of intimidation and inadequacy. As followers of Jesus, we are called to LEAD others to Christ, which means we are called to lead in all our spheres of influence. How can we lead effectively in every role and season of our lives? Be confident of your identity in Christ. Genesis 1:27; Psalm 139:13-17; Colossians 3:10-14). Be intentional with your influence.

Tuesday, August 26, 2014. I hope you dance} A letter to my kindergartner. To my sweet Olivia Grace;. Will I be accepted? Will I be loved? Will anyone notice I am even here? How will I make it without my mommy? Do you know how I know what you were thinking baby girl? Will you please do your momma a favor? Will you cling to God when you are scared? Will you say 2 Timothy 1:7 when you are scared? I pray that if you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance. Your #1 Cheerleader, Momma. I pray y...

Life Outside the Shell: C-section, VBACS and a Miscarriage {My Birth Stories}

http://www.lifeoutsidetheshell.com/2014/12/c-section-vbacs-and-miscarriage-my.html

Tuesday, December 2, 2014. C-section, VBACS and a Miscarriage {My Birth Stories}. Mary's story of birthing Jesus in a manger with smelly animals around and no bed to lay on but hay makes my birth stories seem so small yet they have one thing in common.the element of surprise and faith in God. Meet, Ellie, my oldest child and our big "surprise" as we found out I was pregnant only 9 months into marriage. No c-sections, no complications, everything exactly as I had planned. Wow was I wrong. Olivia Grace is ...

Life Outside the Shell: Are you THIN?

http://www.lifeoutsidetheshell.com/2015/03/are-you-thin.html

Monday, March 2, 2015. A few nights ago I was eating a bowl of Cheerios at 10:30pm(not the norm for me) and stumbled upon a documentary called "Thin". I couldn't help but watch it as it was a show following women with eating disorders through their time at a rehab facility for their eating disorder. I was so moved that I began to write down quotes from some of them when they were in group counseling:. A 25 year old admits she attempted suicide after eating 2 slices of pizza. As I sat and ate my bowl of C...

The Buster Bunch: March 2012

http://thebustercrew.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, March 31, 2012. Al's twin sister has become quite an amazing runner over the past year or so. She came in town a few weeks ago to run the Cowtown Half Marathon. We got all bundled up (this was back before we were blessed with 80 degree weather) and went out to cheer her on. Our first stop was in the Stockyards. The sun was too bright to get Alice in the picture, but I still think it's a cool picture. We made one more stop by the water gardens and then met her at the finish. Way to Go Alice!

Friday, May 10, 2013. So I'm way behind on blogging. I'm usually rocking my sweet baby in the evenings so I'm rarely on the computer. I love every minute of it because I know it won't last too long. These pictures are from March when our whole family was together to celebrate my Dad's retirement from State Farm. My mom is super woman and took 8 of the 9 grandkids to the park by herself. This was her giving them her expectations before they left. Bren flying a kite for the first time. Links to this post.

The Buster Bunch: April 2012

http://thebustercrew.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 30, 2012. Once the marshmallow was ready we wrapped it up in the tomb and sealed it tight, just like they did with mortar on Jesus' tomb. Then we baked the rolls and what do you know.the tomb was empty! This was so fun to do with the girls. A great visible reminder that Jesus rose from the dead! Thank You Jesus that the tomb is empty! Saturday, May 26, 2012. We LOVE our church! They do so many amazing things! Everything they do is over the top! This year they had something called the V! County Fair for all the volunteers at church. It was a free carnival with all kinds of rides. After we checked in and walked out to the fair they had a victory line of all the staff members cheering for us and giving us high fives. The line seemed to go on forever and it made us feel so special! The elephants were so fun! The carousel is always a hit.

Life outside the M25

Life outside the M25. Sunday, 16 August 2015. Life Lately: Home Sweet Home Part II. Admittedly, this post is up much later than intended because I was a little grumpy earlier this week: a combination of the holiday blues and the fact that it was still ridiculously hot. This weekend seems to be the sign that winter is coming, and I say, roll on! I thought I would share some the highlights of my trip, before jumping back into life here in Oman, so here goes. Bread baking at the E5 Bakehouse. This play has ...

A very young man who lives in a very small country. A very small country that is barely known in this world. This world which existence dies a little bit every day.
