This is our second Christmas doing the Food Exchange and is probably one of my favourite months for it! Challenged me to make Vanillakipferl. Which are crescent-shaped vanilla biscuits and in December Bratapfel in Nussmantel. Which is a baked apple covered in nuts and spiced with cinnamon! I actually ended up using a recipe by Edd Kimber which you can find here.

The Sweeter Side of Baking. July 18, 2015. July 19, 2015. Summer time, the best weather for heading to the lake, beach and doing anything outside. I dabbled early last year in the growing of vegetables and useful plants for the first time in New Hampshire. I wasn’t told how the heat would get to you but you never realize at first because the sun doesn’t hit you quite like the Island sunlight. I have gotten carried away in the trials and errors of a garden and I must say I learned quite a bit along the way.
