The Good Life Down Under: Mint overload
http://margoandjerry.blogspot.com/2014/11/mint-overload.html
The Good Life Down Under. The continuing adventures of Margo and Jerry. Wednesday, 5 November 2014. My mum gave her mint plants a radical haircut, and presented me with half a black garbage bag of mint stems! Waste not, want not, so I have made (or am in the process of making):. Mint syrup (part 1), mint jelly (9 jars). Dried mint (10 trays worth! And about a litre of mint sauce. I guess it is lucky there is plenty of lamb in the freezer! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Good Life Down Under: December 2013
http://margoandjerry.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
The Good Life Down Under. The continuing adventures of Margo and Jerry. Wednesday, 18 December 2013. Recently one of my net-buddies has started an online food store, The Mindful Trader. And she invited customers and potential customers to request items we would like to see stocked in the store. Sensing the opportunity to set a challenge, I nominated pearled spelt. Lo and behold a few weeks later a supplier was found and it was in stock. I placed an order. Links to this post. Sunday, 15 December 2013.

The Good Life Down Under. The continuing adventures of Margo and Jerry. Wednesday, 1 July 2015. First post for 2015. However now that study is almost done, and things are happening in the garden again I will try and post more often. Stage 1 of the garden makeover has begun with these 2 rascals - Laverne and Shirley. Currently nearly 6 weeks old and the cutest things on 4 trotters. They have been hand reared so come when called, love to play, and Laverne in particular already loves belly rubs :-). April 2...

The Good Life Down Under. The continuing adventures of Margo and Jerry. Saturday, 23 November 2013. Dining spanish style.and longing for salads! Spain isn't the best holiday destination for vegetarians.there is a decided lack of salad or vegetable offerings However, as Jerry's favourite things are meat, cheese and potatoes he was in heaven - although after two weeks of green-free eating even he was feeling nostalgic for some vegetables or salad. Here's a sample of some of our holiday meals. But it is goi...
The Good Life Down Under: April 2014
http://margoandjerry.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
The Good Life Down Under. The continuing adventures of Margo and Jerry. Friday, 11 April 2014. I've taken a semester off uni (again) - I have a lot or work on, and it was all getting a bit much. However this has meant I have had the luxury of time to get out into the garden and remember why I hate weeding, and I really hate couch grass! Here's how things are looking. These will be garlic beds - one "resting" after a mammoth dig-over, the other a work in progress. Links to this post. Tuesday, 8 April 2014.

Under the mulberry tree: Adios Alice
http://alicebackyard.blogspot.com/2010/10/adios-alice.html
Under the mulberry tree. Friday, October 22, 2010. The wildflowers are blooming like I've never seen them before. Mulberries are dripping from the tree. The garden and the vegetable crisper is full of produce. The olive trees flowered for the first time. Hopefully the many posts in this blog will serve as a resource to those who come to this town and wonder what and how they will grow food. Who knows? Will document this journey. Whoo hooo! Chris Brock (under the Chestnut tree). October 22, 2010 at 4:44 PM.
Under the mulberry tree: July 2010
http://alicebackyard.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Under the mulberry tree. Saturday, July 31, 2010. So after having spent many days looking into the hothouse and frowning, looking a bit closer and wondering wether all the seed was bad - the tomatoes have all popped up. The 3 days of 25 deg plus weather has been responsible for that. Lets hope somebody gets something out of the many pots crammed into the hothouse. I'm going to have to start evicting plants soon. What else is going on? I have not quite finished my last jar from August lasy year. We also p...

ShadowWoods: Autumn Exclaims
http://lifeatshadowwoods.blogspot.com/2009/10/autumn-exclaims.html
Sharing Sustainable Living in the Sierra Nevada Mother Lode. What a busy year! Here it is, almost Halloween, and we haven’t posted any entries since early summer (yet another exclamation)! Several loyal readers have nudged and queried about the status of Life at ShadowWoods. They wondered if we were okay. They've asked about the garden, the gang of pets and the never-ending list of projects. However, their leading question is usually around the status of the blog. Our garden was late, but surprisingly pr...

ShadowWoods: Green Fields
http://lifeatshadowwoods.blogspot.com/2009/05/green-fields.html
Sharing Sustainable Living in the Sierra Nevada Mother Lode. Now, we must be fair, not all of what we cut down and pull is grass. There’s a patchwork of other green lovelies that also crisp up with the daily rising temperature. Thistles, cockleburs and many other assorted weeds add to the battle. However, we just clump. It all under the heading of “grass,” quake. At how fast it grows and wave. Photo: Zea species, aka Foxtails). Posted by Alton : ShadowWoodsFarms@gmail.com. November 20, 2009 at 10:18 AM.

Sharing Sustainable Living in the Sierra Nevada Mother Lode. As mentioned in the past, wildfire is one of our biggest fears at ShadowWoods. Over the past six years, we’ve cleaned, trimmed, brushed, cut, chipped and burned undergrowth, overgrowth, diseased trees and logging slash. It’s been a constant, never-ending, endeavor. While family members sometimes helped in the clean up effort (Thanks Mike and Gary! It’s been an emotional project because we pain at the removal of any growing tree. Howev...Followi...

Sharing Sustainable Living in the Sierra Nevada Mother Lode. Like clockwork, we have daily shows of the new off-Broadway hit, "Duck Parade." Generally, there are three performances: Early morning, a mid-afternoon matinee and a final show in the late afternoon. (What would the unions say about this schedule? Photo: Duck Parade under Big Mama Cedar). Posted by Alton : ShadowWoodsFarms@gmail.com. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). What's "Life at ShadowWoods" about? Seen In The Woods Today. Weather at the Woods.

Margo & Jack | Chapter by Chapter
Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Chapter 5: Doctor Honeymoon, Mister Hyde. November 21, 2012. Thousands of miles from home, I am stranded with a stranger whose stunted emotional gamut ranges only from angry to angrier. I am Mrs. Hyde, on her honeymoon from hell. Mazel Tov. I was attracted to his sweetness and vulnerability, which he never hid from me, as some guys are wont to do. I loved his sharp wit, his handsome face, his broad shoulders and his long, long legs.
