Collecting | Mostly about Mayflies....

https://mostlyaboutmayflies.wordpress.com/collecting

Mostly about Mayflies…. Northern Iron Blue (Baetis muticus). Larval Ephemeroptera are easy to collect. Kick sampling is the most efficient method in running water, whilst in standing water a net can be swept through submerged vegetation or the substrate can be disturbed and the net swept through the disturbed water. Adult Ephemeroptera can be collected by examining bankside trees and other vegetation. Alternatively, adults can be caught as they swarm near the water. Posted April 15, 2009 by macadac1.

Mostly about Mayflies…. Northern Iron Blue (Baetis muticus). Mayfly of the Month – Caenis rivulorum. There is one generation a year which overwinters as nymphs and emerges as adults between May and September. Mostly about Mayflies…. Northern Iron Blue (Baetis muticus). Mayfly of the Month – Ecdyonurus venosus. Nymphs of this species are typically found in riffle areas of rivers and streams. They are usually found clinging to submerged plants and stones, although they may swim if disturbed. E. venosus. Due to the problems with identification of nymphs, it is difficult to compile a complete distribution for this species. E. venosus. Is however, thought to occur in suitable habitats throughout the UK and Ireland.

Monday, February 9, 2015. Engine Cover Sound Deadening. The Albin Ballad engine lives in an enclosed fibreglass box under the cockpit floor. The lid is a two part affair that seals against the engine bay pan. The forward section holds the companionway stairs, with a small storage box on top. Both sections are tied down, and together, with rubber hood latches. My latest project has been to reduce some of the noise coming through the engine box housing the Yanmar 2GMF 20 Diesel. As an installation guide.

Monday, 5 July 2010. All the reasons below apparently have been usurped by my greater need to blog: mostlyaboutmusic.wordpress.com. Monday, 8 June 2009. The problem with blogging. My blogging hiatus began when I got entirely too busy with the end of third year. Now I am debating whether to continue blogging or not. I have identified a few main reasons why this hesitancy has come about. 1) I don't really care that much. I like to read things, and I find a lot of things fascinating. 2) Its been done. I oft...

Making The Move To Facebook. June 11, 2013. After 7 years of blogging (Blogspot, then WordPress) I have decided to move my blog over to a Facebook page, here here here here. A traditional blog host became less useful to me as I realized that the creative aspect of making my blog look a certain way wasn’t really appealing to me, nor worth the time. All I wanted was to share my jazz quickly and efficiently, to people I knew and hopefully some people I didn’t, too. I briefly considered the fact that I&#8217...
