The Travels of Narrowboat Lillyanne. Monthly Archives: June 2015. Fradley Hot, 30th June. Our trip last night to The Swan at the junction was mixed. A rather nice pub to sit outside and watch the canal go by, very nice beer, okay food, noisy neighbours! Walking to the pub we had been warned by other boaters that the food was nothing at all special, but if we were okay with sausage and chips then we’d be fine. What we chose was okay bordering on disappointingly ordinary. Grab rail ready for undercoat.

One guide book suggested it would take 9 hours to reach a safe haven, another 6! We hung a right and headed for the first lock. The Travels of Narrowboat Lillyanne. Marple to Bugsworth 7th August. Harrods, head down hill from Bridge 2 of the Macc. On the way back up the hill to the canal we stopped off at Harrods. This is a motor spares shop, not a northern offshoot from Knightsbridge! Mick asked about diesel filters and the chap brought one through. When Mick asked how much and the answer came back 2.50 he asked for another three! They are almost twice as much at most chandlers! Great views when you can see them. 7 August, 2015.

Saturday, 8 August 2015. A-Wey for a barbecue. We knew Carol and George from. Were on the River Wey, the closest connected waterway to home, so we got in touch and arranged a visit for the afternoon. The result was a big boater's barbecue, because Sue and Vic of. Were also moored at Send, with family visitors.
