Life & Politics in the Real World: Why do they riot in Ferguson?
http://lifeandpoliticsintherealworld.blogspot.com/2014/11/why-do-they-riot-in-ferguson.html
Life and Politics in the Real World. Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Why do they riot in Ferguson? Why do they riot in Ferguson? What are they protesting? What do they hope to achieve? Do they want to destroy a cop, just to see if they can? Do they want more black cops? What does the Left want? Do they want a mob to convict an innocent man by proxy? Isn't that like - lynching? Do they want cops to stop enforcing the law in majority black neighborhoods? Do they want to a ruler instead of the rule of law?

Life & Politics in the Real World: First Amendment Repealed
http://lifeandpoliticsintherealworld.blogspot.com/2014/12/its-official.html
Life and Politics in the Real World. Wednesday, December 17, 2014. It's official. North Korea repealed the First Amendment. There's still time to save it but have we the will? Sony Pictures pulled the movie North Korea found offensive from distribution. Apparently because the theater chains caved in the face of a verbal threat of terrorism. So now we know, and so does the rest of the world, that American civil liberties are abandoned quickly and cheaply. What are we fighting for? What is to be done?

Fitness Over 50: Slow & Steady Really Does Win the Race
http://fitnoverfifty.blogspot.com/2009/04/slow-steady-really-does-win-race.html
Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Slow and Steady Really Does Win the Race. I started running programs many different times and they usually ended with a minor injury – typically to a knee or ankle. Soon, my speed increased and I didn’t realize it. I continued adding ¼ increments each week without thinking about speed until I reached seven miles per day. During this phase I also learned the value of good running shoes and elastic knee braces. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). This blog is owned and mantained ...

Fitness Over 50: The Marine Corps Half Marathon
http://fitnoverfifty.blogspot.com/2009/04/marine-corps-half-marathon.html
Wednesday, April 8, 2009. The Marine Corps Half Marathon. On 10/3/1998 I ran in the Marine Corps Half-Marathon. North Carolina, a 13 mile foot race around a course marked off within the USMC base. From my home in Burlington, NC the base was a three hour drive so arriving at 7:00 AM for registration and warm-up required that I drag myself out of bed at 3:00 AM and hit the road at 4:00 AM. It was a good thing I did. Immediately, I started passing other runners; mostly senior citizens and women pushing baby...

Friday, April 3, 2009. Getting Fit and Staying Fit. I am 58 years old. I’ve got a paunch that my wife doesn’t like but otherwise I’m in pretty good shape with hard muscle everywhere – even under my paunch. I run a little. I walk a little. I lift weights a little. I practice martial arts a little. And, I do some yoga/Pilates. Three categories of reasons have caused me to stop exercising in the past. 2 Lack of sleep. 3 Major life events (marriage, changing jobs, having children, etc). Major life events are...
