It is one of the prettiest and most interesting areas that I have had the privilege to live in. This is a view of Slocan Lake looking south from the beach at New Denver. Notes from New Denver. Monday, 14 July 2014. New Denver has a wonderful reading centre. Located in the village's heritage building Knox Hall. Just walk around to the back. And down the steps. They have a surprisingly good collection for such a small venue AND they have library loan access. If you look carefully you can make out "our library" on the door grill. The museum features exhibits about the area’s heritage, including its mining, logging and agricultural history, as well as the recently restored Lancet. Admission is by donation.
