One thought on “ The New Good. July 9, 2014 at 11:42 pm. I love the idea of redefining ‘good’ and I think its really true that countries will change if we make them. I think with the rise of social media its becoming more and more easier to get the attention of governments! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Stories about acts of kindness – big and small. July 12, 2014. I was told that it was nature running its course and that I should leave the bird, but my family also knew that that just wasn’t an option. I’ve always loved animals and from a young age always wanted to take care of them when necessary. I felt somewhat guilty calling late at night, but I also knew that rescue operations had to feed baby animals every few hours, so I figured someone would have to be up (and perhaps tired and cranky! A few day...

Stories about acts of kindness – big and small. July 15, 2014. It’s really easy to get carried away in the day-to-day grind, and there’s always a long to-do list. Sometimes others can have a negative impact on you, and then you carry that energy forward. One kind word is all it takes to stop the downward spiral. When I saw this post, it struck me as something so simple and yet so true. One kind word is sometimes all it takes. This entry was tagged #actsofkindness. Milton’s Place →. Enter your comment here.

Notes From the Peanut Gallery. I Swear This Isn’t My Journal. Because if this blog was my journal, I’d neglect it for months at a time and write in it when the mood struck me. No, that’s not right, but laughing is good for you and I’m happy to contribute to your good health. Because this is the easiest form of playing catch up, here is my list of things that have been keeping me busy. This easily could have been a well rounded meal with a nice green salad, shared between two people as the recipe suggests...

Notes
From the Pear Tree House. Monday, July 4, 2011. A few weeks ago Hubs and I travelled to Pennsylvania where we were visiting my parents. During our visit we went out to eat at Don Pablos, a mexican chain in the area. I ordered a Spinach and Pimento Enchilada dinner. I thought the meal was delicious with the spinach and peppers and onions all wrapped up and smothered with cheese and sour cream. I also thought that I could cook it better. 1 Red Bell Pepper. 2 Jalepeno peppers (seeded w/o ribs). Fill the tor...

Pharma. Not so big. Not so bad. I touched on this topic briefly in a previous post on sex and the immune response. S, but I thought autoimmune diseases really deserved a dedicated post on their own. First it’s important to understand just how fortunate we are to have immune systems that recognize and protect us from pretty much any foreign invader, such as bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens. And for the most part it does a pretty good job of this. How do we normally remain tolerant of our own tissue?

Jul 4, 2015. The Day We Were Given a Wedding and a Marriage. This one day, July 6th 2002, we were given a wedding. Most people pay for their wedding and throw it themselves. When we got married, every aspect of our wedding was given to us by our church, family, and friends. Our community rallied around us and showered us with love and prayers. The large church we grew up in said we could have the building, chairs, kitchen, tables, etc. for free. And then we didn't know how to do the food for so many peop...
