The Back Story – About “She Ordered What? Archive for the category “Casual Food”. Montreal Smoked Meat – Can’t Beat Pete’s! Typically when I travel for business, I don’t have much time to really enjoy touring the cities I’m in. This trip was no different. I was fortunate enough to have a meeting less than five miles from my parents’ house, so I did get a chance to say hi to them while staying overnight at “home”. Because of the food, and because of the live blues music they have in the evenings. Is a typ...

Massive editorial error in the initial draft – sorry for that, folks! I was invited by friends at Next Act Theatre. Here are a few shots of the interior. Marko was...

Saturday, April 5, 2008. Hello, everyone, Merouda here. As I have previously posted, one of my A&S 50 projects is to do something from Tusser each month, in part, to help me understand the agricultural flow of the year. We've not got a recipe for April up yet, but I wanted to invite y'all to do the April Tusser task with me, particularly since I know at least one of you is interested in the same project. Because I simply do not have time to experiment with cheese recipes. Meanwhile. April recipe? April 2...

A New Yorker, living in Wisconsin who loves to cook and write about it. Farmer’s Market Week 3. I made out pretty good this week. No bread though :( My favorite bread vendor now sells at the Wednesday market. My work schedule doesn’t allow me to visit that one so the Amish will have to fulfill my bakery needs on Saturdays. The store is Oro di Oliva. They currently have three locations in the Milwaukee Metropolitan area. The staff is great at suggesting pairings that you might enjoy.
