What’s with this weather? | Our View From Here
https://ourviewfromhere.wordpress.com/2012/02/10/whats-with-this-weather
Our View From Here. Perspectives of Five Women. Laquo; Does anybody know what they want to be when they grow up? What’s with this weather? On February 10, 2012. At the end of a morning jog around Green Lake. Good ole’ Punxatawny Phil got it wrong. When the poor rodent was pulled from his hidey hole in Gobbler’s Knob last week, he said that there would be six more weeks of winter. I think Poor Phil forgot to look at the weather forecast because this has been anything but winter. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

https://pavementpounding.wordpress.com/2011/03/16/healing-my-poor-broken-foot
The making of a runner….I hope. March 16, 2011. Healing my poor, broken foot. I suffered a setback a couple of weeks ago. I was out on my first outside run of the year on a lovely warm weekend day. I miscalculated a step and broke my pinky toe. Since then, I’ve been walking gingerly, taping up my foot and/or using an aircast to keep my bones still. But, good news is on the horizon! Laquo; I’m still here…. Back to try a tri. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

Health, one month at a time. | Pavement Pounding
https://pavementpounding.wordpress.com/2010/09/16/health-one-month-at-a-time
The making of a runner….I hope. September 16, 2010. Health, one month at a time. Yesterday, I got an email with a link to the site Health Month. An interactive game to start and track healthy habits. HM lets you write your own rules for each month, and check in daily to track your progress. At the end of the workday, three of us sat down at our computers and generated our rules of the game. We also started a team to try to get our colleagues, friends and family on board. My rules for October are:. These ...

The making of a runner….I hope. October 15, 2010. I’m still going. I know I’ve been lackadaisical about writing here this month. But it’s not because I haven’t been running. On the contrary, I’ve been doing more than I did in September. The first week of October, I ran 12. 5 miles, and this past week I’ve run 12. I am crediting this to accountability. I wrote back in September. My feet haven’t been feeling great lately. I wrote awhile back about my shoes. But, all of this is to say that it’s working.

https://pavementpounding.wordpress.com/2012/05/10/back-to-try-a-tri
The making of a runner….I hope. May 10, 2012. Back to try a tri. I’m signing up for a triathlon. In August. It’s 13 weeks away, and I’m out of shape. First step, find a training program that will get me in shape enough to get through the course. Second step, get a bike. Third step, find someplace to swim. So…if you have any advice for a first time triathlete, a good training regime, a not-too-expensive bike that I should get, gear or just some encouragement, I’d appreciate it. Good luck with the training...

Capacity vs. Desire | Pavement Pounding
https://pavementpounding.wordpress.com/2010/10/22/capacity-vs-desire
The making of a runner….I hope. October 22, 2010. Capacity vs. Desire. I’ve been really good this month. I’ve been great about limiting my sugar intake, though, for next month I could probably stand to cut back one more day on that. I’ve been pretty consistent about eating greens and walking and I’m now an excellent flosser. Really, you could eat off the spaces between my teeth, they’re that clean. Of course, then next-day me comes along with her whiny attitude and starts the whole cycle again. Thinking ...

From the Balcony
Monday, May 14, 2012. Say hi to Heidelberg. Last month Karen and I were visiting a good friend in Frankfurt when we struck upon the idea of taking a day trip South to the town of Heidelberg. People have remarked how charming the city was, and I had been reading the Mark Twain's A Tramp Abroad. With much delight, so it was an easy choice to take the hour long train ride. When we completed the steep walk up to the castle grounds, the three of us were greeted with a lively atmosphere of musicians, clowns an...

View from the Edge. This blog is the wild, crazy, sometimes painfully honest journey of a woman who lives on the edge and loves it there! Saturday, July 02, 2011. It's time. Time to resurface from a long trip to the depths. I gotta tell ya, over the last few years, I've hardly known what to do or say. Even one day at a time has sometimes been too much.
