Introduction | All for palaeontology and palaeontology for all!
https://palaeomansam.wordpress.com/2013/02/26/introduction
All for palaeontology and palaeontology for all! Skip to primary content. February 26, 2013. As a researcher, I am often asked to ‘write a brief introduction about myself’. This can be for a website, a conference, a poster or whatever. This is something that I do not enjoy doing. However, I have just started this blog and it is forcing me into writing something straight away. Therefore, here is an intro about me and my blog (Wish me luck). OK, now that is out the way, lets follow the what with the why!

All for palaeontology and palaeontology for all! Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Monthly Archives: April 2013. April 22, 2013. So it has been a little while since I did my last blog post and I thought it was about time I did another one. Instead of looking at another paper I though it would be a good idea to talk about something that I particularly like about being a scientist. That is public engagement, and specifically, two things that I am involved in in the near future.

All for palaeontology and palaeontology for all! Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Monthly Archives: May 2013. May 20, 2013. I know it has been a while since I last posted a blog but life has been busy, with a fossil festival in Lyme, a thesis to write and a beer festival thrown into the middle. Apologies for the absence but luckily for you, here I am with another installment. Fig 1: Remains of the ichthyosaur and interpretive drawing from Liu. The new material from China suggests that ...

All for palaeontology and palaeontology for all! Skip to primary content. Eye eye, what’s going on here? March 11, 2013. So here is the third installment of my blog. As I am still new to this kind of thing, I am sticking with familiar territory. For me, this is ichthyosaurs (not surprising). For this blog we are going to look at their eyes, and one paper, Motani. And co’s interpretation as to the reasons behind why they are so big. From the Statliches Museum fur Naturkunde. Stuttgart, Germany. Numbers co...

Blog of the Red Moon
Blog of the Red Moon. Wednesday, July 13, 2011. The Night Hunters: Jiibayaa. Imagine Frank the Apocalypse Rabbit mixed with Geronimo and scary African tribal masks. Now make them desert cannibal pack-hunters. Yes, fear is an appropriate response. The Jiibayaa are a fearsome, little known race that haunt the deserts of the world, particularly the vast wastes of northern al-Andzeria. By day, Jiibaya seem like curious hares, albeit very large ones. They only trust their own kind, and only relate positively ...

Welcome to the Edinburgh palaeomagnetic group. At the University of Edinburgh. This research group is based in the School of Geosciences at the University of Edinburgh. One of our main research aims are to investigate the question of low latitude glaciations in the Neoproterozoic (the Snowball Earth Hypothesis), as well as general questions of palaeogeography, apparent polar wander paths, the Earths Geomagnetic field and how it is recorded in the rocks.
