Editorials, critiques, and otherwise searingly important comments from a young woman of innumerable opinions. Okay, I admit it. When I was a kid, I watched 'Saved By the Bell.' And I thought Zack Morris was highly date-able. Then again, I was eight. Sixteen years later, flipping between CNN and 'The Today Show', I run across the SbtB College Years series finale: the Zack/Kelly wedding! Amazing the thoughts that run through your head when you've just woken up and haven't had caffeine yet. 7) 'The Best Yea...

Editorials, critiques, and otherwise searingly important comments from a young woman of innumerable opinions. One year ago tomorrow, a film came out into wide release in the United States that, even then, I cringed at. The film was No Reservations. Starring Aaron Eckhart (late of The Dark Knight. The reason I cringed then was because I knew, as few of my contemporaries did, that this film was based on a German film from 2002 called Bella Martha. Better known to English-speaking audiences as Mostly Martha.

Editorials, critiques, and otherwise searingly important comments from a young woman of innumerable opinions. Good lord, has it really been over two months? You've got to love the way the time just flies by between Thanksgiving and Single's Awareness Day . oops, I mean Valentine's Day. Especially when the interim involves, besides the usual holiday festivities, the inauguration of the first African American president in the country. I have employment again! Yes, I know it's supposed to be the other way a...

Anything & Everything: April 2008

http://panopticview.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

Editorials, critiques, and otherwise searingly important comments from a young woman of innumerable opinions. Today's thing is a poem by Robert Herrick. To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time. Gather ye rosebuds why ye may,. Old Time is still a-flying;. And this same flower that smiles today. Tomorrow will be dying. The glorious lamp of heaven, the Sun,. The higher he's a-getting,. The sooner will his race be run,. And nearer he's to setting. That age is best which is the first,. And while ye may, go merry;.

January 16, 2010. I am in looove! However, it can only write as fast as I come up with words to say - there is n o. Software that can change that. In other news, I met with the Dramaturg. Who Put the Mustard in My Custard?: December 2009

http://outofthecube.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

December 22, 2009. I am at 21,000 words! In other news, we still don't have our Christmas tree up yet. It is ridiculous, I know, but we have had so much going on lately. Hubby bought my an i phone for Christmas and let me have it early, as you only have so long till it can be returned etc. All I can say is that I am in love. I've been contemplating adding another doggie or a kitten to our family over the holidays. But then I think.what extra time do I have for it? Links to this post. December 11, 2009.

http://outofthecube.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

August 4, 2010. The dog we rescued on our trip to Amherst has been adopted! I wish a long lifetime of happiness. In her new forever home! So, what else is new? I started sending my novel out today. And now the waiting game begins. I'm trying to restrain myself from obsessively checking my email for responses, but it's kinda impossible. I plan to jump into my next project tomorrow to keep busy. I'll keep you posted on any developments. :). Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Mealey's Miscellany: Home from Peru!

http://marymodern.blogspot.com/2010/08/home-from-peru.html

Think of all the people we'll love who haven't been born yet.". Monday, August 30, 2010. Welp, I'm back. It was such a fantastic trip that I felt none of the usual 'I've been gone long enough, I'll be glad to get home again.' I just feel melancholy. Jill and Kate on the Amazon. So here are some random highlights—I won't start blogging in earnest until next weekend, when I get to download Kate's pictures. It vants to suck your blood. This is what happens when you fall asleep in the taxi. I only wish I was.

Think of all the people we'll love who haven't been born yet.". Saturday, September 4, 2010. Harmony Homestead Dispatch #9. On my last day in Vermont, Paul and Niki and I met Michael (otherwise known as 'the boy with the long red hair') at his shop for lunch. He restores pianos in this spooky factory space built in 1904:. I found cool stuff inside besides the instruments. Niki played this gorgeous piano dating from 1890, and nearly had a heart attack when I told her later that it costs $36,000! My Shoes,...

Who Put the Mustard in My Custard?: November 2008

http://outofthecube.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

November 14, 2008. Slowest fire drill in history? So, we're in a new building at work and today they decided to put us through our first fire drill. Now, before you think I'm all whiny, let me explain that I have been through many fire drills in previous buildings. None of them were like this. And this is the first time I've complained about a drill. Here's why:. You know how people often consider just hanging back and not leaving the building if they know it's not a real fire? It took twenty minutes!
