Club Runs | POLHILL RACING CLUB

Throughout the year we have club runs both at the weekends (Sundays) and midweek (Tuesdays and Thursdays). The Sunday rides start from outside of the Bell pub at Bredhurst and the start time is. 9:00am from first Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October and at 9.30am for the rest of the year. The ride is from 40 to 65 miles at a moderate pace with a halfway cafe stop.

The Polhill was established in 1946 with riders from West Kent and South London meeting at the Crown Public House, Shoreham. It was not until 1947 that the riders could make an impact - and what an impact! The Brighton to Glasgow was run from 1945 to 1952 and was the first multi stage road race at the end of WW2 with the Polhill playing a big part in most of them.
