Postcards from Camp: Has It Really Been A Year?
http://postcardsfromcamp.blogspot.com/2009/02/has-it-really-been-year.html
An on-line view of my journey to the war in Iraq. Tuesday, February 10, 2009. Has It Really Been A Year? Over a year since my last post? Wowthat's bad. REALLY bad. Here's the express version: I returned from Iraq safe and relatively sound in late June 2008, took about a month off and then went back to work. Since then, the main excitements in my life have been a couple of Penn State home games, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers win the Super Bowl (sorry, neighbors! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

An on-line view of my journey to the war in Iraq. Friday, March 30, 2007. At Least I'm Not Bored. Sorry I haven't updated the site in several weeks but they've been keeping me pretty busy. I just returned from a two week training exercise in Virginia and spent the weeks before the exercise preparing for the event. We have had some very long days and very short nights, especially over the last 4-5 days. I can't complain because the days go by quickly! Thursday, March 8, 2007. The Road to Mobilization.
Postcards from Camp: February 2008
http://postcardsfromcamp.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
An on-line view of my journey to the war in Iraq. Saturday, February 2, 2008. It's Groundhog Day here at FOB Enormo, which seemed like an appropriate reason to re-energize this neglected blog. The saying in Iraq is that "every day is Groundhog Day," an idea we lifted from the movie. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). NEW IMAGE COMING SOON. Postcards from Camp: Culture Shock
http://postcardsfromcamp.blogspot.com/2007/11/culture-shock.html
An on-line view of my journey to the war in Iraq. Monday, November 5, 2007. The first days back in the US were a bit more of a shock than I had expected, which I suppose is good training for when I'm home for leave and then home for good. What I wanted to wear. I came to my senses and quickly decided that whatever I purchased would look as little like "issue" clothing as possible and would NOT include the colors green or brown. My first sit down meal (at a local Applebees.not exactly haute cuisine) w...

Welcome to our Blog! Saturday, May 22, 2010. Afterwards we decided to go to Spinoza’s for lunch but chanced to meet our Synagogue tour guide. Friday evening we went to another salon at Bruce’s. Laszlo the historian who had spoken to us at orientation back in February led the discussion. He was frustrated th...The far rig...

Postcards from a Camp Counselor
Postcards from a Camp Counselor. July 28, 2015. July 28, 2015. I knew leading 72 campers and 17 counselors (77 campers and 19 counselors fourth session) would be an adventure. We are the biggest, baddest tribe you’ve ever met to quote ourselves. I had no clue all the things I would discover this summer. I didn’t realize how much I would learn, stretch and grow. But isn’t that one of the best parts of life? 8211; Bell’s Palsy does not. 8211; A six percent chance of thunderstorms is. You may be cranky!

Postcards from Canvey Island
Postcards from Canvey Island. These pages are a sketchbook of ideas and research from my wanderings on Canvey Island whilst artist in residence at Cornelius Vermuyden School. Working in the Studio. Work on the large Canvey Island map started in May. I have been working in the studio since then stitching the piece mostly by hand. The marshlands around the edges of the island create beautiful lacey patterns. I am now working on the seed stitched area of Chapman Sands which is a slow task. I was very intrig...
