Welcome to Railfan Reports - Story 9

http://railfanreports.qstation.org/story9.html

With most remnants of the Northern Pacific gone, it is nice to know that the old concrete bridges built by the NP still remain carrying trains over the many washes west of Hatton just as they did in the days of the Northern Pacific. There are 4 to 5 of these bridges in each mile for the first four miles west of Hatton. The angles to photograph them are endless. EMD #9080 East at W. Hatton on 24 January 2006. Welcome to Railfan Reports - Story 3

http://railfanreports.qstation.org/story3.html

Robert and I left Friday night for Pasco so we would be ready early on Saturday to chase the SP&S 700 east towards Spokane. After the night in the motel right across from the yard we awoke to a sunny sunrise! A unit had to be pulled off of a nearby westbound freight and added to the point, ahead of the SP&S 700. BNSF 6308 was picked up and after quite a delay was ready to go. An eastbound Z-PTLCHC overtook it before Sands and we shot this train first at Lind about 1235. It was still sunny when the BN...

Welcome to Railfan Reports - Story 4 - Part 1

http://railfanreports.qstation.org/story4.html

Saturday - May 5, 2001 (Day 1). Saturday - May 5, 2001 (Day 1) With the intention of photographing semaphores under better weather conditions than my February trip back to the MRL in Western Montana (the word "sun" was rarely mentioned) I headed back for another three days this past weekend. What I did different was leave Saturday morning and head home Monday night. This was so I could catch the MRL Paradise Local on its Monday morning run. Now it was time to head east towards the funnel. It wasn't t...

Welcome to Railfan Reports - Story 6 - Part 1

http://railfanreports.qstation.org/story6.html

UP in the Blues. Saturday - May 26, 2001. Soon we heard a horn in the distance to the west. We set up at the grade crossing here and shot the eastbound QHKPR with UP 4363/7566 up front at 0825. Then east to Kamela, the top of the grade for another photo of this train. The next thing we caught was a westbound Soda Ash unit train with:. ASENP UP 9359/2243/9095/5862 (w/DPU's 7532/9347) @ 1802. Original Slides for Sale. Site last updated on:. Welcome to Railfan Rails. Within these pages is a simple representation of some of the railfan activities that I pursue to keep me busy and sometimes out of trouble. Like most railfans, photography is a highly visible part of their participation in the hobby and this holds true at RailfanRails.com. Photography is represented with select images from the past 30 years and is primary presented as historical records and not as works of art.
