Raising Them Up

Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Shortly after writing my last blog entry about clearing my schedule and downsizing my commitments, I made a big decision. It didn't come without a lot of thought and input from those that I respect, but mostly, it came straight from my heart. I have decided to put starting my photography business on hold. This was hard because I love photography with so much in me. I crave it. Sometime I even think. In pictures. As in, I think."how can I capture this moment? Of what I want.

Raising Them Up: November 2011

http://raisingthemup.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Friday, November 25, 2011. So today I realized that I don't want my kids to grow up anytime soon. I would like to freeze them just as they are.tantrums, tears, drama, and all. I know I think. That quite a bit, but today it hit home harder than usual. The mommy in me wanted to break up this spat (which didn't get physical) and send the kids playing and sharing happily and peacefully. But no, these weren't my kids. They weren't even being supervised by any adult. These kids were on their own. After a littl...

Raising Them Up: Trimming the fat

http://raisingthemup.blogspot.com/2012/02/trimming-fat_26.html

Sunday, February 26, 2012. Its been a month since I've been here. And its been about that long since I have even read any blogs. Sorry, blogging friends :-(. I will now tell you why. I am trimming the fat. Not just the fat on my body, haha - but all the fat in my life. And blogging is.well, fat. At least in my life, its fat. The reasoning doesn't matter to me as much as the result. Less filler and fluff in my life = More quality time with my family. And its not just about the kids. My new business is her...

Raising Them Up: May 2011

http://raisingthemup.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 31, 2011. We arrived in Atlanta to visit our family just a mere three days ago, but we've already had enough fun to make a ton of unforgettable memories. The kids are livin' it up at Omi's house. They've baked, swam, built forts, swung on swings, skinned up toes, banged up chins, eaten popsicles and swam naked. Even the baby is having fun! He has been held by numerous sets of arms and has slept in Omi and Opa's heirloom cradle. Friday, May 27, 2011. Gaining, gaining, gaining. This time I bro...

Raising Them Up: June 2011

http://raisingthemup.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 30, 2011. My name is Randi. I think I am a hippie. I am not sure when it hit me, but lately it seems I am doing more "hippie - like" things than not. I don't know how my view of life and/or parenting has shifted quite so much, but I can tell you that I am very much enjoying the way I do things now. I got really excited today when I washed my cloth diapers and it was sunny enough to hang them outside to dry. They looked lovely on my drying rack in the sun. I still love that :-). And I haven...
