Monday, September 17, 2007. First ride on the bike! Today was one fun day for Kav and me. Since Rajesh was out of town, I'd asked his playschool car to pick him up in the morning. Come 9.30 and with the car not in sight, I decided to just take the plunge and put Kav on my 2-wheeler and haul him off to school. But he was just fine, chattering away about the buses and autos and cars and dogs. It was just soooo much fun. Can't wait for tomorrow morning! Saturday, September 08, 2007. Kavin is talking a lot!

Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Kav went pee-pee in the bathroom for the first time today! I had almost given up on potty training, not that I was very military about it. Thursday, February 26, 2009. Today was a big milestone day for Ovya. She turned from back to tummy. And then seemed to be in a hurry to crawl, sit up, walk, run etc! She has been doing it all day now, and is very non-chalant about it, even as we are so excited. She has been turning from tummy to back for ages since I put her to sleep on her tummy. So we were waiting for this day anxiously. She has been doing great with Cerelac that I started last Monday, and I am thinking of upping it to 2 feeds/day.

Thursday, January 04, 2007. Today, he cried right after I put him into his pickup van. But I sent along his safety blanket and a couple of his books, so that familiar objects might soothe him. I called his princy and asked her to use them if needed. Looks like he settled down after he reached the school and spent the afternoon reading out stories to 3 new kids who joined today! Saturday, May 03, 2008. My 5th month checkup. I am at around 18 weeks now. Just across the half way point. I went to the doc's office after a heavy, heavy lunch was got on the weighing scale, with dread. I have put on about 2 kgs (maybe a wee less), making my total 71 kgs . My doc said that was ok, and I was relieved! But then, I was 71 at the time of delivery during Kav's pregnancy, so I know I have my work cut out after this baby is out! Off to dig into some protein and do some packing. I became a mom!

Tuesday, September 30, 2008. Ovya slept through the first night of her life. Fingers crossed for this to continue; but we know that's wishful thinking where babies are concerned :). She received her polio drops and Hepatitis shots before being discharged home. Her bilirubin count was normal as well. Once home on M. Sunday, September 28, 2008. Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Ovya gave me her first smile today when I was playing with her! It was funny since she was squinting at me hard and then broke into a beaming, 'pokka vaayee' smile. I can't wait for Rajesh to see it and get his heart broken as well :). She has been trying to focus onto faces and objects for over a week now.
