Thursday, 15 September 2011. Day trip out to Saffron Walden and Audley End 14th September 2011. After a 58 minute train journey from London to Audley End we got off the train, much to the delight of Ben who really didn't like his first ever train journey. Thursday, 19 April 2012. Ingatestone Loop 19.04.2012. Having limited time today and with poor weather predicted, Marie and I decided to do a walk closer to home and settled for the Ingatestone Loop. We started at Mountnessing Windmill. Is a grade II* listed. Which has been restored to working order. Was built in 1807, replacing an earlier mill. There are records of a windmill here since 1477. The mill was working until 1924, and it worked again in 1932-33. Whose coronation was in that year. Who was execu...

Friday, 27 January 2012. Rotherhithe-A Thames Tour 27th January 2012. This walk will take you on a historic tour around the homes and work places of London seafarers. A map of the Thames Tour of Rotherhithe. The start point is Redriff Road Bridge, close to Canada Water tube. This large red lifting bridge was built in 1949 as a temporary measure to span nearby Deptford Creek. It was moved here 10 years later to replace the much older swing bridge. As you walk under the bridge you enter Greenland Dock.

On 24th May 2010 My mate Dave and I left Romford for Marlow, Buckinghamshire. Lucky enough we left early as we experienced traffic as roads were closed due to accidents. On the plus side it was a very hot and sunny day! I saw two Red kites. On the way down, forgot there were in The Chilterns. Once hooked up to the tow pl...

My Bike Rides Journal. Wednesday, 24 July 2013. BHF London to Southend 2013. Well I decided to ride the BHF London to Southend Bike ride on 21.07.2013. I couldn't be asked to start in London though. Getting there only to have the horrible ride out seemed pointless. So I left Romford and joined the route at Tysea Hill Stapleford Abbotts. This meant I would be riding 10 miles less but it seem the best option. I cycled up through into Navestock Heath and through onto Blackmore road in Kelvedon Hatch. I arri...
