Reflections on a journey in Seattle. Newer posts →. November 19, 2011. So blog friends – I have seen that my numbers in hits to my page have hit an all time low. I very much regret not updating this blog in over a month! If I could write about all the blog thoughts in my head, it would result in:. Blog posts about visitors at the end of summer/beginning of Autumn and reflections on long-distance friendships. Blog posts about my new baby niece, Chloe Elizabeth, who is perfect in every single way. Last Mon...

Reflections on a journey in Seattle. Life In Seattle →. March 20, 2012. 8220;What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love becomes a part of us.” – Helen Keller. I’ve been wanting to write this post for some time now. A significant anniversary in my life happened 3 weeks ago. As of February 28, 2012 it has been one year since I left my home in South Africa. I’ve adjusted and become content and happy with life here in Seattle. I know that if I moved back to South Africa now my li...8221; b...

https://rachelinseattle.wordpress.com/about
Reflections on a journey in Seattle. Everyone has a story to share, this is how I share mine. For those of you that don’t know me, allow me to introduce myself. I’m a 24 year old Pennsylvanian who enjoys chocolate, traveling, singing and dancing and acting, smiling, and being with others. I have a passion for forming relationships with others, empowering women, learning more about social justice issues, and working with children. I want to love people for the rest of my life. I spent Oct. 2009 –...

Reflections on a journey in Seattle. Dream Dream Dream →. April 30, 2012. It’s creeping up to 9 pm here on this Monday night in Seattle, and I just closed my curtains because the sun is setting. And even though this post has nothing to do with the sun setting in Seattle, I am reminded of why I love Spring in Seattle and the long days that lead up to summer. All of it came together in March when Wesley sent me to D.C. for a scholarship interview weekend. After a red-eye flight, I was greeted b...Worshiped...

Reflections on a journey in Seattle. June 15, 2012. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Sometimes at Mary’s Place I find sadness. But other times, and thankfully most times, I see happiness. Like a couple months ago, when I saw sisters rejoice together when someone got keys to their own apartment. The next day, she exclaimed how she had slept better than she had in years. 8220;Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow. C’mon – you can sing alongtoo! All of us have dreams. ...

Rachel Keller in South Africa. Living, Learning, Loving. They could be seen all around me. I looked to the left, they were there. I looked to the right, they were there. I looked in front of me, and still they were there! It wasn’t long before I noticed my quietest voice start to sing, How GREAT is our God. I started to sing for my audience of One. Rachel Keller in South Africa. Living, Learning, Loving. For the Love of Chocolate. After manually shutting down my computer by just holding in the power button and turning it back on the same way, lovely little Microsoft word shows me my repaired document that is still missing 3 articles I wrote before deciding to freeze again. It really did make life seem not so terrible. Thank you God for chocolate, and those who bring it for my enjoyment :]. Date : February 17, 2011. Categories : Day to day. Join 17 ...

Rachel Keller in South Africa. Living, Learning, Loving. Four weeks…here I am stuck in the middle. The good-byes really started almost 5 weeks ago, when I went to my last cell group meeting and gave my goodbyes to a group of stunning young adults who became one of my communities for the last 5 months of South Africa. Four weeks ago today (after over 24 hours of travel with an 8 hour layover! I arrived to two very tearful eyed and smiling parents who welcomed me into their open embraces. 2 hours later...

My last blog in South Africa | Rachel Keller in South Africa
https://rachelinsouthafrica.wordpress.com/2011/02/26/my-last-blog-in-south-africa
Rachel Keller in South Africa. Living, Learning, Loving. My last blog in South Africa. I sit here in our lounge amidst clothes drying on the rack, blankets stacked up to be donated, and dishes and food that has been sorted and piled high on the counters in bags to be given to friends. It’s hard to believe this moment has come – after 16 months of living in South Africa, it is now time for me to go back to the United States. See you on the other side of the Atlantic. Cheers! Date : February 26, 2011.
