Hill Junkie: January 2015
http://hilljunkie.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Weston Worlds, 2015 Opener. Wednesday, January 14, 2015. The Tuesday night crit-on-snow race series. Has begun at Weston on the Leo J. Martin golf course. A large group showed up Tuesday, despite frigid temp, with over 80 racers between the A and B fields. With conditions marginally sketchy after a full day of activities on the course, I pondered for a moment if I shouldn't race in the slower B group. Hard packed conditions brings out the worst in my weak technique. After a large gap opened, a few more s...

Hill Junkie: November 2014
http://hilljunkie.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 14, 2014. Then a couple weeks later, I noticed a very subtle bump in the drivetrain when hammering in a smaller cogs. Running the chain through my hand on the bike stand, I didn't see or feel anything odd. Yet the subtle bump persisted. It didn't skip or anything, like it was earlier with the tight link. You just could feel something wasn't quite right in the chain. Then one morning before work, I was throwing some lube on and something caught my eye. A link was missing a roller! With T-...

Hill Junkie: February 2015
http://hilljunkie.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 13, 2015. With record snow tallies, the "Tuesday Night World's" at Weston is thriving. I missed a week when I suspected dubious conditions. But the last couple weeks were fabulous. A challenging, nearly 3km course is now laid out over the original snow-making area and a long finger out into the "flats.". It was perfect powder conditions, zero wind, upper 20's for temp. In other words, it doesn't get better than that. Didn't I warm up thoroughly enough? With less than two minutes to go, i...

Legs on Fire Tuesday Night Gear Works Ride. Getting faster all the time! Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Tuesday night report 6/29/10. Good news, a perfect night for riding and one of my favorite routes, out to Princeton, 62 to Hubbardston, 68 to Gardner and then 2A back to the streets of Fitchburg. 8220;Essay, Essay! 8221; which I think means Faster, Faster! Or something like that. The numbers I have from last night’s ride are off from other rider’s numbers. But here’s what I had:. Regrouped at the intersecti...

Legs on Fire Tuesday Night Gear Works Ride: April 2010

Legs on Fire Tuesday Night Gear Works Ride. Getting faster all the time! Wednesday, April 21, 2010. April 20, 2010 Tuesday Night Ride Report. After all the crappy weather we had this past weekend it was a pleasure to see that the weather for last night’s ride was going to be a lot nicer. We had partly cloudy skies with a light wind of 7-10 mph from the Northwest; it was 66F at wheels down and 56F when we arrived back at the shop at 7:50pm. You know like Justice Hill Road! Somewhere in Devens we stopped w...

Legs on Fire Tuesday Night Gear Works Ride. Getting faster all the time! Monday, January 4, 2010. Ken Lecomte - 15K mission accomplished, amazing! The responses to my previous "off season training" post were so completely underwhelming, I'm glad to finally have something of substance to post here. So that gives me about 180 some odd miles out of 15,000 that I got to try and hang onto Ken's wheel this past summer. For those who haven't already read this in Charlie's email, this is an amazing feat. I'm sur...

Legs on Fire Tuesday Night Gear Works Ride: Tuesday night ride report - 4/10/12
http://mysorelegs.blogspot.com/2012/04/tuesday-night-ride-report-41012.html
Legs on Fire Tuesday Night Gear Works Ride. Getting faster all the time! Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Tuesday night ride report - 4/10/12. Next week someone please remind me there’s no need to do the 20 mile pre-ride ride before the Tuesday night ride. That was my first mistake - there were more to follow. Everything from tonight is more or less a blur, the accuracy of this report is suspect. Feel free to correct any errors or ommissions. Oh well, there were bigger problems ahead than riding barelegged.

Legs on Fire Tuesday Night Gear Works Ride. Getting faster all the time! Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Tuesday Night B Ride 4/17/12. Nice to see a lot of the old faces back on the Tuesday night ride - Leon, Folsom, Jay B, and others. Tonight's ride again started out up Prospect Street, a brisk pace as we turned right onto Shopping Plaza Hill, as soon as we hit the downhill the attacks started coming fast and furious - 1,2,5 riders took flyers down the hill, these sandbaggers obviously didn't belong on our ride.

Legs on Fire Tuesday Night Gear Works Ride: March 2010
http://mysorelegs.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Legs on Fire Tuesday Night Gear Works Ride. Getting faster all the time! Monday, March 22, 2010. Saturday morning’s Tuesday nighter. This felt more like a tuesday night ride than a typical saturday morning ride. Total Distance: 37 miles. Total Time: 113 minutes. Average speed: 19.6. Despite being sick for the better part of the past two weeks, and only having 1 ride in during the previous 10 days, I was really looking forward to Saturday’s ride. A little after 9:00 Charlie pulled things together, letting...
