Running in Suffolk: Training Routes

http://runningburyblue.blogspot.com/p/training-routes.html

I will start to add a number of regular routes that I run as a reference point for anyone interested in where I run around Bury St Edmunds and Suffolk. How measured:-Forerunner 205 GPS. Course: Out and back. Difficulty: Easy but includes a few hills. Start West Suffolk Sports Centre. West Suffolk Sports Centre. What better place to start this run than from the West Suffolk Sports Centre a central point familar to all who venture down on a Monday or Wednesday for a track training session. I am old enough ...

Running in Suffolk: Bamboo Clothing - Men's Zip Neck Baselayer - Indigo

http://runningburyblue.blogspot.com/2011/04/bamboo-clothing-mens-zip-neck-baselayer.html

Sunday, April 10, 2011. Bamboo Clothing - Men's Zip Neck Baselayer - Indigo. Over the last few weeks I have been test driving a sports top made of bamboo. Yes you heard me right Bamboo! I was sent a top from a company called BAM. This is a UK company who have a refreshingly positive attitude to business and state. My first impressions on opening the package was how silky and soft the top felt. As it indicates on the BAM website this top could be used for a multitude of sports such as climbing, camping, ka...

Running in Suffolk: Juneathon Day 5 - 2011

http://runningburyblue.blogspot.com/2011/06/juneathon-day-5-2011.html

Sunday, June 05, 2011. Juneathon Day 5 - 2011. Day 5 means I have already reached the milestone of one sixth of the way to completion of Juneathon. Looked at that way it means a very small slice of the overall 30 day event we call Juneathon but time flies when you are enjoying your self. Today being Sunday I allowed myself a bit of a rest so I ran this afternoon and did yet another 4 mile run bringing my total to 20 miles for the 1st 5 days. Taste Rating 8 Good for me. Running in Suffolk: Juneathon Day 12 - 2011

http://runningburyblue.blogspot.com/2011/06/juneathon-day-12-2011.html

Sunday, June 12, 2011. Juneathon Day 12 - 2011. Now here is a novelty. A run in the rain! Yes I left my run on day 12 of Juneathon to this afternoon when it rained. It was lovely once I had got over the initial barrier of stepping out in to the rain. It was a novelty as it we have had the driest spring I can ever remember and we have been in drought conditions. However this afternoon we finally, finally got some real rain and wind. I got in a 5 mile run making my total for Juneathon 50.25 miles. It is re...

Running in Suffolk: Juneathon Day 13 - 2011

http://runningburyblue.blogspot.com/2011/06/juneathon-day-13-2011.html

Monday, June 13, 2011. Juneathon Day 13 - 2011. I am not really superstitious but another milestone today on the Juneathon challenge was the 13th of the month. I had plans to do a longer run but had to cut it short when I fell over. Not sure what I tripped on but I came a cropper going round a corner. I was about a mile and half into my run and having fallen my immediate thoughts were what hurts? Within a few seconds I was running again and trying to appear that nothing had happened. Not that anyone ...

Iliketocount's running blog. Musings on running and so much more. A little better →. June 1, 2015. Not that you’d know it by the weather though, to be fair. Bruised my ribs by falling off the bmx on Friday so only managed a slow jog tonight. Still, it’s 6 miles sorted. Better things can come. This entry was posted in Juneathon. Iliketocount's running blog. Musings on running and so much more. June already →. January 24, 2015. I’ve been doing a bit, just not honouring the Janathon ways by blogging about it, is all. A steady run a bit later than I wanted after work Thursday and another fantastically fun pump track outing last night. Which, with another early work start this morning, makes a tired man of me. So I’ll bore my reader no more and shuffle off! This entry was posted in Cycling. June already →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Iliketocount's running blog. Musings on running and so much more. A Sunday jog →. June 6, 2015. Good fun ride, slow with it being greasy after rain showers, but better than jogging non-stop. And my ribs just ache when going is hard now, so nearly mended. This entry was posted in Juneathon. A Sunday jog →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. About me …. Janathon Day 30 – club run. January 2013 – Catch up →. Janathon Day 31 – Janathon COMPLETED! January 31, 2012. I have done it! I have run 32 days in a row (every day in January and the 10k race on NYE)! I have completed the Janathon 2012! I have therefore treated myself to a little reward for my efforts. So I didn’t. As I did on the evening of 31st January 2011 I once again started to wonder what I had learned from doing the Janathon. Again it is very late in the evening and I am very tir...

"But they eat cats there!"

When we told people that we were moving to China with our cat, this was the funniest response that we got. Monday, July 7, 2008. And then we came to the end. We survived our 36 hour trip home. Even though Jameson suffered the most during the trip (almost 2 days in a pet carrier with no bathroom break! She's recovered the fastest. I don't want to go into the horror of our trip home, but suffice it to say that it was like the movie "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles," but not funny. At all. I have no idea wh...

Butterfly Runner

A life transformed through running. Thursday, July 23, 2015. Back Story (Part 1). If you look back at photos and videos of my children's early years, you might come to the conclusion that I wasn't around very often. It's like I didn't exist those years. There is no evidence to prove that I was there. Even my Facebook profile pictures from this time period are comprised solely of pictures of my children. This makes me so sad, for so many reasons. I am sad when I look back and remember the swirling dark...
