A total beginner's guide to running. This year’s tally so far →. Who knew getting lost could be so much fun? June 26, 2013. I’m busy training for an alpine half marathon that is coming up in a couple of week’s. I did the 10km alpine class at the same event last year and know that the hills are going to hurt. This has led me to go further afield to reach my training goals this time – which are to basically to run a lot of very high hills! Here’s to getting lost more often! September 13, 2013 at 6:50 am.

A total beginner's guide to running. One of the most important things that I have to have whilst running is my playlist. I don’t mind admitting that I can’t exercise without music and that definitely includes pounding the pavement for a couple of hours. This week’s picks:. Summertime Sadness – Lana Del Rey. One Day/Reckoning Song – Asaf Avidan & the Mojos. How We Do (Party) – Rita Ora. Beggin’ – Madcon. OMG – Usher. Skinny Love – Birdy. Starry Eyed – Ellie Goulding. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

A total beginner's guide to running. Doing it as a Team. Who knew getting lost could be so much fun? April 30, 2013. I was dreading the Spring school holidays as, with a 10K race coming up in the second week, I would need to somehow keep the training up whilst having the kids at home full-time. I am an Aussie living in Switzerland with my English husband and two lovely kids. I have recently found a new passion in life - running! View all posts by runningcommando →. Half Marathon and Other Musings. When the Sirens Are For You. October 10, 2014. Your world stands still as everything else around you keeps going. What just happened? What am I supposed to do? My husband Jim had a stroke last week. I was home, heard him yell out and called 911. Pressed the medical personnel to move faster and brought in family in case this was it. The record for an ambulance to make it to Columbia from JC is 18 minutes. Jim’s got there in 20 – it was a rainy, stormy night. I will admit i...

I’m sorry to tell you east coast and midwest folks this but it was 75 degrees, sunny and wonderful out. Every Feb it gets nice for a weekend and we all think winter’s over (it’s not). A Running Commentary – Thoughts about life and fitness…
Thoughts about life and fitness…. I’m a creature of habit, and that cuts both ways. Whether I’m in the habit of doing good things or bad things, I tend to stay in those habits until something knocks me out of them. Sometimes that’s external and sometimes it’s internal – I just get tired of suffering through *WHATEVER* enough to make a change and stick with it until it takes hold. Call them motivations, call the internal kind self-motivation. I started simply by saying that I’d do something active e...
