Sand In My Swimsuit: The Larks: 3

http://sandinmyswimsuit.blogspot.com/2008/11/larks-3_06.html

Thursday, November 6, 2008. And on to Lark #3. Let's call her Kathy. Though I also went to high school with this Lark, we did not have our very first, heart-to-heart (read: I blabbed and she graciously listened) until she signed up to join me on this escapade. However, we first reunited after exchanging letters over the summer, when she read about my hair-brained stunts to save the zoo. And just look at the mug on her dog. Think SHE trusts me? Sand In My Swimsuit: Distant Dreamer

http://sandinmyswimsuit.blogspot.com/2008/10/distant-dreamer.html

Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Remember my big adventure. And remember how I'm filming it? And remember how I have no idea what the feck is involved with making a short film? A transcript from my three most recent phone conferences with producer:. Me: I was hoping we could use something from Modest Mouse on the road trip portion. Me: Maybe we could SING the WORDS to a Billy Joel song on the run through the park. So I have to BUY music, MAKE my own music, or BEG for free rights to music. The director found ...

Sand In My Swimsuit: Here Is Where We Meet

http://sandinmyswimsuit.blogspot.com/2009/03/here-is-where-we-meet.html

Friday, March 20, 2009. Here Is Where We Meet. This is the title of a John Berger novel. I love it, and recently picked it up to read again. I know I'm rarely serious on here. What's my ratio of cynicism to sincerity? In real life I'd say it's roughly 5:1. On here, probably 25:1. I like it here best. See, that was sincere. Damn. At any rate, here are two of my (sincerely) favorite passages. I dare you not to cry. I dare you. Lisboetas often talk of a feeling, a mood, which they call saudade. I'm reading ...

Sand In My Swimsuit: Have Struck Land

http://sandinmyswimsuit.blogspot.com/2009/03/have-struck-land.html

Sunday, March 22, 2009. And why in God’s Green Earth am I working so hard at moving backwards in technology when it's doing nothing but make me yearn for smelly dogs and flour-covered aprons that are tucked with pins? Well, I think it's this. It's not that cell phones don't rock, because they do. But they, well, CHANGE the home-time dynamic. Don't they? And that’s okay. Hey, does anyone remember how to make your own phone ring? You know, how you punch in a few digits and then hang up and then it rings?

Talking To Myself Always: March 2009

http://talkingtomyselfalways.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Talking To Myself Always. Wednesday, March 25, 2009. In November of 2008 I went on a LARK ADVENTURE. I was invited to be one of 5 people to go to the Art Institute of Chicago and see a particular painting housed there. The only catch I had never actually met the other 4 girls who also were going to be on this trip. She proposed to Mr. Peterman to send us dresses so we could all go to the Art Institute of Chicago and see Jules Bretons painting entitled. Song of the Lark". So the LARK ADVENTURE. Heck on a ...

What’s Cookin’? All The Cool Blog Names Are Taken. What’s Cookin’? No public Twitter messages. Archive for June, 2009. I’m not usually one to step much out of my comfort zone, but with the online community I’ve become a part of and LOVE, I’ve gained a little confidence. When a friend (@NikolSpencer) sent me a link and suggested that I sign up for a contest. I was a little nervous. I don’t do things like this, but then I thought – why not? So I’ve moved my blog from Google’s Blogger to my very...

A Blip on the Radar Screen: Inspiration Found

http://ablipontheradarscreen.blogspot.com/2009/05/inspiration-found.html

Friday, May 8, 2009. Okay, so it took the first coat of paint in our bedroom to make it happen, but I'm now so inspired to do the rest of the house I can't stand it. I don't want to do anything else now! Atleast I was able to create a retreat for hubby and I when we want to just lay in bed and read or talk. The room is nearly finished, I received the mirror I've been waiting for in the mail today, so that can go up and then it's just crown molding and a few more artistic treats and we're done.

Tuesday, February 10, 2009. Angels On The Moon. This is my most recent obsession, thanks to a great friend for introducing me to it ;). Friday, February 6, 2009. Here's a little something I wrote back in High School. Now that I have my internet connection at home you can expect more of this to follow, however only a few of you will get to read everything :). I tiptoe the midline of Route 139 and feel the summer breeze of 1986. Strawberries and cream on the back porch of grandma’s house. Just a girl break...

Sand In My Sprockets

Sand In My Sprockets. A bicycle tour through the southwestern states of America. Thursday, May 13, 2010. El Paso Austin Seattle! So Texas was not so bad. After Carlsbad Caverns, Dean and I headed to Ft. Davis, past the storm and wind, for good riding in the hills there, as well as a tour of the McDonald Observatory.
