Yesterday, we finally closed on the building we have all had our eyes on for a long time- the historic Firehouse in Suttons Bay- and have partnered with Jen and Nic Welty from 9 Bean Rows. Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Somehow, though, we manage to carve out enough time to do the things we love to do. For me, it is gardening, for Paul- cooking. Last night, he headed up the hill with our two dogs and our daughter and her buddy trailing behind. They poked through the woods and carefully collected two bags of fragrant ramps, also known as wild leeks. I say carefully. There was lunch in a new room of a familiar restaurant, looking out over a parking lot in back Id never seen, so it felt like we were on a road trip somewhere exotic like Baraga.
