About | Scattered Ink

https://scatteredink.wordpress.com/about

As a development worker, I spend a large portion of my time in airports, planes, trains and cars to be a small part of our programming in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. The travel is exciting, mundane, revitalizing and tiring. This is my take on what I observe and my semi-normal life in between. 4 Responses to “About”. February 14, 2010 at 10:27 am. These are wonderful stories. Keep telling them. You are giving voice to the unheard. We’re praying for you. February 23, 2010 at 8:27 am. I’ve recentl...

the rollercoaster | Scattered Ink

https://scatteredink.wordpress.com/2010/10/14/the-rollercoaster

October 14, 2010. Within my first week of moving to Phnom Penh, I have already managed to risk my life. Now, admittedly, this was completely self inflicted. I decided to ride a rollercoaster in Cambodia. Idiotic? Probably. But I cannot deny that it was thrilling. We shot into the air and then dropped suddenly, lifted again, dropped to the right, lifted, and lurched backwards to leave us dangling forwards. Zoë, sitting closest, clutched my arm and screamed a pained, Heeeelp! We moved on to explore the res...

new foundations | Scattered Ink

February 23, 2010. Thousands of children were killed in the earthquake leaving behind innumerable devastated mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers. The exact number has not yet been announced, but the loss of potential from Haiti’s younger generation is staggering. Those 14 years old and under normally represent 43 percent of the country’s population. If this ratio was even close to the same for the 230,000 lives lost, the impact is beyond comprehension. The other day, a mason was filling in some cracks...

February 21, 2010. I try to believe that God means it when He says He will hear the righteous and deliver them out of all their troubles. That He is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. I need to believe it for the hurting ones that I see, and for the many, many I do not. My eyes stung as the car lurched forward again. I slowly turned to look behind me. The man was again staring blankly in front of him, his right hand now resting back on his incomplete leg. See Monday’s feature.

Sunday, 15 November 2009. Bloodstained Footprints' gets cinema viewings. My Short film 'Bloodstained Footprints' was chosen by Cinebarre for their short film selection-preshow in America. They basically screen a selection of chosen short films before the feature instead of commercials and it's a great opportunity to get your work out to the public. 'Bloodstained Footprints' was screened before 'The Men Who Stare At Goats' and 'Law Abiding Citizen'. Click on the link below for more information:. Your hard...

Letting go, hanging on, and much more. September 2, 2016. She sits in a coffee shop. And watches as the rain. Violently knocks on the window. Asking to be let in. SCATTERED IN THE WILD WIND

SCATTERED IN THE WILD WIND. Observations from a freelance writer. Friday, 13 April 2012. The strange death of Fred Archer. Rarely had the going been so favourable for the hooded rider who was carrying a scythe instead of a whip. Never had his pale horse bore him more soundly; never had his purpose been more steadfast. He came from the mouth of darkness, and his name was Death. On Thursday, November 4, 1886, Fred Archer felt unwell during a meeting at Lewes and decided to give up his remaining rides for t...

Scattered Is A Pattern. These blogs will take no defined shape. They will match my life - scattered. Scattered Itinerant

We live, in fact, in a world starved. For solitude, silence, and private:. And therefore starved for meditation. And true friendship." -C.S. Lewis. There are times when I feel the presence and conviction of God in little glimpses. The tender whispers, gentle rebukes, and momentary revelations of the evil in my heart. Then there are times when it seems like the Lord flips on the light in the junk room. A while back the Lord began to knock on the door to this room. I heard the rapping for years, but co...
