Thursday, August 28, 2014. Summer is so close to the end and the early Fall seems approaching in "south" Iowa! S and I called it south, since this is the most south part of the country that we've lived so far). Early morning is getting cooler, but not the crisp air type. Trees are turning yellow, but thank goodness grasses are still green! I have been gathering myself together better lately! The phone has been buzzing busy lately! Our home is slowly looking "settle" in! It is getting closed to be a quilt...

1/4" mark: A Daffodil Joy Quilt
http://quarterinchmark.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-daffodil-joy-quilt.html
Monday, May 25, 2015. A Daffodil Joy Quilt. The first time I met Daffodil. The colors of butter cream yellow and the green bring so much energy to the still white scene Midwest. I can't tell you the pleasant feeling that I always have when daffodils live in our place. The bit of colors really lighten up a long day out and about. They are seriously the most pretty and elegant flowers in the stores. Back to the Daffodil Joy Quilt. It is simple a Double Irish Chain. When searching for the prints for this qu...

Skip to main content. The intellectual benefits of the real old-fashioned summer. Published by Lori Pickert. On July 3, 2013 at 06:22 AM. When I was a child, things were different. There were no screens to speak of we had no cable TV, no video games, and no one I knew owned a computer yet. When the summer sun dawned hot and relentless, we would pull on our shorts (cut from last winter’s jeans) and our striped Garanimals T-shirts and head outside. That billboard I complain about. When I was a child, thing...

1/4" mark: Quiet time
http://quarterinchmark.blogspot.com/2015/05/quiet-time.html
Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Do you remember the first time you travel or even school field days? I got two chocolate bars, two small bags of chips, and maybe a bottle of drinks. Oh, believed me this was just the start of my travel journey. I never pictured myself travel so much when I was a kid! I think that description is closer to who I am and how I see life in my little perspective! The backing will be a fun concept; lots wording for sure! Most of all the pattern instructions are so well written. I l...

http://quarterinchmark.blogspot.com/2015/04/random-not-sew-satisfied.html
Thursday, April 30, 2015. Random: Not sew satisfied. I've been friended with miss Seam Ripper for many hours. Lots ripped off threads are everywhere; upstair, downstair, in the staircase, on studio table and the on the kitchen floor. I will pretend I don't see them until later this week. I am not quiet satisfied with the outcome of the half-sandwhich quilt blocks for a few weeks. The seams are off on many blocks and it was not quiet right! April 30, 2015 at 5:23 PM. How-To: Block-Printed “Hope” Flags. My son wishes his school had a library. My daughter likes when everybody is friends. And I enjoy a community in which children and adults strive to be kind. The printing plates are Styrofoam trays. With the raised edge sliced off, then cut into quarters. Again, using a craft knife, metal ruler, and cutting mat made this go quickly. Other materials are pencils, sponge brushes, and liquid acrylic craft paint. Onto the method! I think this is a great activity for a commun...

Tuesday, November 25, 2014. A mini birthday quilt! Before I start writing this post, I filled in a box of animal crackers and a cup of hot tea by me. I am not sure how long is this post going to be, but I know for sure I will want to pause and think if there's anything that I miss in the writing. This mini quilt finished in October and has been shipped and received! Oh boy, let me think the first time I "met". Elnora is just what she sounded. In her comments and emails ; sweet, honest, and kind! Ever sin...
