Liz and Keith In Corfu. Tuesday, 24 June 2014. High tide - mid afternoon. People fly by in the traffics boom. Knowing - just where you're blowing. Getting to where you should be going.". With the summer season in full swing, the temperature is rising and many of our friends are turning up in San Stefanos for holidays; including Enid and John from Preston and Dee and Paul Woodruff from Lancaster (‘Woodie’ to his friends). Half way through the gig, Woodie was ‘persuaded’ to get up and sing! Leaving Liz in ...

Liz & Keith In Corfu: May 2014
http://lizandkeithincorfu.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Liz and Keith In Corfu. Saturday, 24 May 2014. 8220;Who draws the crowd and plays so loud? Baby it’s the guitar man”. We had stayed overnight here last year with Paddy and Lorraine and Woodie and Dee and had been recommended to try one of Woodie’s favourite watering holes “Cocktails and Dreams” as a venue and. To us they had been recommended Keith as an act for their bar! The sheltered beach is covered in white shiny pebbles and is a perfect spot for a swim in the stunningly clear water. We called into t...

Carmel in Oz: Bushwalking with Mr Dan Smith and other potterings
http://carmelinoz.blogspot.com/2008/03/bushwalking-with-mr-dan-smith-and-other.html
Girl in the Emerald City. Saturday, 22 March 2008. Bushwalking with Mr Dan Smith and other potterings. Well it seems my declaration last week that it was the 'end of summer' has been taken up as a challenge by those in charge of the weather, as we've had gloriously sunny days, blue skies and calm warm sea since then - hurrah! Mooching with Christina on Bronte Beach. To stay a few days. I sat opposite Dan for about four years (I think? Dusted them down and prepared for some proper bushwalking. It's an inc...

Sheilaabroad: June 2007
http://sheilaabroad.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 5 June 2007. In Italy on Lake Garda living in Sirmione with our office based in Desenzano. Taking some settling in to my new role as reps manager for Italy as the job has not been defined and I seem to get everything that no one else wants to do. My plan then for the next couple of days is to plan my job and work as it has been crisis management so far and that just gets too stressful. That will do for my first blog will add to it later, but just wanted to get started. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Carmel in Oz: Movies movies and more movies
http://carmelinoz.blogspot.com/2009/03/movies-movies-and-more-movies.html
Girl in the Emerald City. Monday, 2 March 2009. Movies movies and more movies. I'm starting to realise that films really dominate my life, from watching them to making them, to watching other people make them, to watching people win awards for them, to flying interstate to see them, to blogging about them, to tweeting about them: all I seem to think about is movies. Watching the Oscars with my team. Shall I cycle to work or get the bus today? And Is there more to life than film? To (yes, you guessed it!

Carmel in Oz: Welcome to fabulous Brisvegas, Queensland
http://carmelinoz.blogspot.com/2010/07/welcome-to-fabulous-brisvegas.html
Girl in the Emerald City. Wednesday, 7 July 2010. Welcome to fabulous Brisvegas, Queensland. Brisbane is about an hour's flight north of Sydney, in slightly warmer climes, and is quite a modern city built on a river. I spent most of my time there on the South Bank, which was the arts district, but was creepily similar to London's South Bank, with its concrete brutalist square architecture and a wheel that seemed a copy of the London Eye. South Bank: London or Brisbane? Two very little old ladies. It's ta...

Carmel in Oz: Another long weekend
http://carmelinoz.blogspot.com/2011/05/another-long-weekend.html
Girl in the Emerald City. Wednesday, 25 May 2011. My trip away at Easter gave me an appetite for long weekends, so a bunch of friends and I decided to take a Friday and Monday off work last weekend and go down the coast for a holiday. Nick's friend Dee has a house in Jervis Bay, which I'd visited in my first winter in Australia, in the beautiful Callala beach. Chilling out at the beach house at dusk. Nick and Sam build sandcastles. Pretty good reading seat. The boys get manly and chop firewood. View my c...

Carmel in Oz: Easter weekend
http://carmelinoz.blogspot.com/2011/04/easter-weekend.html
Girl in the Emerald City. Wednesday, 27 April 2011. Easter brought an extra long weekend for us here in Australia, as it coincided with a very important annual holiday, ANZAC day. Where we remember people from the Australia and New Zealand Army Corps who have given their lives in service of their (and the Mother) country. My five day weekend began with a fantastic brunch at the home of my friend Beth's parents. Amazing hot cross buns. Autumnal Easter road trip colours. And they have a fab location right ...
