Friday, 8 April 2011. Keep on asking God for the things you want. I have finished work at the two Junior High Schools and have in fact also parted company with Interac. A few weeks ago, I applied to be an elementary teacher at an international school in Nagoya and was successful. I have just completed my first full week there. I’m exhausted, but happy! So, I am in charge of my own class again and I get to teach all the subjects! It’s the weekend! Hope you are doing well. Miss you back home. Japan earthqu...

http://steveinnagoyajapan.blogspot.com/2011/11/driving-home-for-christmas.html

Sunday, 27 November 2011. Driving home for Christmas. How are you all? Oops, it’s been a while since I’ve written anything. But I do have some news. In a few weeks time, I will visit the UK. It’s the first time for me to come back since I left in August 2010. I can’t wait to catch up with family and friends, in Telford and in Coventry! So, on that note… if you are free on Tuesday 3. Please drop in at the Open Arms pub. In Cheylesmore for a drink and a catch up. Anytime between 5pm-11pm. Talk to you again.

Simon and Becci's blog. Follow our adventures in Cambodia…. Posted by: Simon & Becci. June 30, 2015. This week I was going to write a blog about our day trip on Sunday with the church to the Kirirom National Park, about 100km south of Phnom Penh. However, my friend Rachel Saunders got there first, so why bother reinventing the wheel! Cambodia Through Our Eyes. On Sunday we had a day out with our church to the waterfalls in. Simon and Becci's blog. Follow our adventures in Cambodia…. Posted by: Simon & Becci. April 9, 2013. A smashing time at Khmer New Year. Next weekend is Khmer New Year in Cambodia. Its the biggest holiday time here, akin to Christmas in the UK, where people have time off work and travel across the country to spend time with their families. Those who follow our blog regularly may recall what we wrote last year. That explains a bit more. Give them a large stick and point them in the right direction. The pot...

Simon and Becci's blog. Follow our adventures in Cambodia…. Posted by: Simon & Becci. February 24, 2015. Ferry cross the Mekong. View of the north of the city from the Skybar. That’s why we were so delighted to discover the passenger ferry across the Mekong River a couple of years ago. For the princely sum of 500 riel (12.5 cents) per person, you can travel 15 minutes across the Mekong River to a very different world on the other side. Can you spot the pigs? Simon and Becci's blog. Follow our adventures in Cambodia…. Posted by: Simon & Becci. April 15, 2012. Happy Khmer New Year. One of the seven New Year angels. The history of Khmer New Year centres around a strange mythical story. Shrines are covered with bananas, all having been purchased at inflated prices at the market. A fortune teller also broadcasts the precise time that the angel will come, which this year was apparently at 7.11pm on Friday. As people across Cambodia are looking towards someone comi...

Simon and Becci's blog. Follow our adventures in Cambodia…. Posted by: Simon & Becci. May 5, 2015. What’s in your seaweed sandwich? I have a new favourite sandwich. The only problem is that when I buy it I have no idea what is inside. Meet the delicious Onigiri…. We were supposed to visit the Eatons, and GraceCity Church. A few minutes ago as I clicked ‘Book now’ on two one-way flights back to London Heathrow in early October, our time in Cambodia officially entered its final phase. We are now preparing to leave. mexpatriate — in the key of steve

Mexpatriate — in the key of steve. Missives from mexico's pacific coast. Thursday, August 13, 2015. Some days I feel as if I live in a fantasy. Take yesterday morning. Every summer we wait for the rains to arrive to help moderate our humidity. So far, this year, nature has been toying with our affections. Instead of our usual rain storm every three or four days, we get a bit of rain - and then days of damp heat. I have learned my lesson about driving my Escape in our tropical rain storms. My venture ...

Information from the Isthmus

Information from the Isthmus. Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Well project has come to an end. Last night I spent a little time reflecting on what I learned in the past 6 ½ weeks here in Panama. After some thought and prayer I came up with this: The Gospel truly does change both lives and even communities. We need to keep the Gospel central to our Christian walk and daily remind ourselves of it. Such trip, and although I arrived thinking I knew what to expect I have been in awe of what I saw. This year our pro...

How to win friends and influence people. Sunday, October 2, 2011. 10 Must Stop Photo Spots of North Queensland. Ok, first up, this is not a definitive, researched, ultimate bucket-list thingo. He’s a contractor and they started as business partners buying and renovating old houses. And quite the pair they are. This h...
