A marathoner / newbie triathlete's training blog. Thursday, June 29. Disappointing 5k time trial. I joined monthly regular 5k TT at the track. Last Saturday when I was running alone around the Imperial Palace, I met Eric Wainaina, Eri Hayakawa and their coach Nakajima-san. I was actually runnning clockwise to expect if I could encounter some friends or famous runners and it was bingo! As I once interviewed Wainaina for Runners Magazine, he somehow remembered me and ran a lap with me! Thu: 10.6k jog. Fri: 10.6k jog. Sat: 17k jog (5k with Wainaina!

A marathoner / newbie triathlete's training blog. Wednesday, March 29. Oda field, after a looooong time. It's been a long time since last I ran Oda field. Today was 5000m TT day. I didn't think I could run for PB, so I decided to do a build up run. I enjoyed it. Posted by mika t. @ 10:29 pm. Life is short. なにごとも経験だ。 My quads are very sore today from only 10km of relaxed trail jog. Hmmm, I start doubting if I can complete 30km trail race coming Sunday. Posted by mika t. @ 3:14 am. A marathoner / newbie triathlete's training blog. Saturday, December 31. New Year's Eve, 16.5km. I am in Ibaraki, my parents' place and ran the course towards the sea. I was going to do slow 10km recovery run, but once I started, I couldn't stop myself and ran 16.5km. I think I ran too much after 32km yesterday. My left outer hip joint hurts.I should be more careful. Today's distance: 16.5km. Posted by mika t. @ 3:55 pm. 気がついたら え もう という感じでスタート地点に戻っていた。 Friday, aerobic 32km. Posted by mika t. @ 3:10 pm.

A marathoner / newbie triathlete's training blog. Wednesday, November 30. 5000m TT. No PB (of course! I had no running Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday is the day of Namban track workouot, 5000m time trial. I was secretly expecting another sub 20 minutes run stupidly, but after having done 2km, I realised that it was way too ambitious. At the point of 3km, I gave up trying hard, then finished at 20m36s. Well, next time. I hope not.). Today's distance: 10km or so.(jog and 5000mTT). Monday, November 28.

tokyo running days: February 2006
http://tokyorunningdays.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
A marathoner / newbie triathlete's training blog. Friday, February 24. I haven't updated the blog for a while. Where was I? First, about Ome Marathon. It was truly fun! Started slow, kept sensible pace in the middle, tried a bit harder after the halfway point, picked up the pace at the latter part, catching woman runners one by one, and then sprinted the last 100m to the finish line. I love 30km! Even after finishing, I still had energy and I didn't feel much damage from the race. Huge thanks to Steve.

A marathoner / newbie triathlete's training blog. Sunday, April 30. Run and bike at Ooi Futo. I slept in due to yesterday's short of sleep and fatigue from hard swim and couldn't go to Yoyogi park. But I wonder who was running there because almost everyone went to run the ekiden in Inagi today. Well, it looks that I will be able to finish before 4hours cut-off time. I will do some more of this combination workout before the race. A month to go! Today's distance: 64km bike, 10km run. 15km non stop swim.
