August 12, 2011. Built in 1922 this stone house in Tavakli village was purchased in July 2011 and work started on its renovation in August. The house sits in a plot of land 636 m2 in size. The house is built on a stone foundation and is made of stone and brick. The house is in reasonably good order but there will be an extensive renovation project to provide it with more comfortable living accommodation. May 20, 2013. The basement area is now complete with a depot and office room which extends under the house and balcony. Ridge tiles have been placed along the top wall of the garden where the wall has been raised by approximately 18 inches. The balcony now complete with railings. Shutters finished in Smooth Blue Hammerite paint. Front view of building and new garden walls. Extended and raised garden wall with ridge tiles. Stairs down to office and depot rooms. The new balcony with railings complete.

October 25, 2013. Work has commenced on the second house, the frame is now finished and the roof on. In this house a metal frame supports the roof tiles. January 3, 2013. The outside of the house looks pretty much as we left it although the garden is barren and dug over for winter. Some steps lead up to the garden and down to the depot area which will have its doors and windows fitted next week. New House May 2014. June 1, 2014. The new house is now ready for its fitted kitchen and bathroom fittings. Essentially it is almost ready for use. Since this house has been designed from scratch unlike the main accommodation it does have better insulation and is more up to date in terms of its fixtures and fittings. The interior of the house comprises of a main lounge, kitchen, double bedroom and bathroom suite. It is open plan design with no internal doors except to the bathroom area. June 1, 2014.

The rivers Doller and the Ill run through the city. Previously part of the German Empire of the Alsace-Lorraine region it passed over to French control after the Second World War. Tavaklı Köyü, Ezine, Çanakkale. Koordinatlar: 39 40 23 N, 26 11 53 E. The old name of this village is Larissa. Later this was changed to Tavuklu and subsequently its current name of Tavakli. Canakkale is 74 km away from Tavakli and Ezine is just 24 km away. The location of this village is between the edge of the Sakar Mountain and 3km inland of the Agean Sea.
