Junk Miles In Paradise: August 2013
http://jasonhynd.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Junk Miles In Paradise. Saturday, August 10, 2013. Pre Cascade Crest 100 Thoughts. Dreaming big is part of my journey to a Well-Balanced Life! Running 100 miles is a pretty arbitrary distance (why not 110? So with just two weeks to go my training is done. They hay is in the barn! Last year I had already run one 100, one 50, and several 30 mile races. This left me with more recent experience, and perhaps more overall endurance. It also left me a little beaten up and tired! For the Gear Geeks:. 8226; Hydra...

Junk Miles In Paradise: August 2012
http://jasonhynd.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Junk Miles In Paradise. Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Well, here we go again! My third 100 mile race is in just three days. Am I ready? No The several weeks since White River 50 Mile have been pretty mellow. 50 miles a week, and a longest run of 2:20. I could go on and on with reasons why this might not go my way, but what good would that do? These things are very mental anyway, and I can't change where I am with my fitness, so here are some daily affirmations:. Saturday, August 4, 2012. Alright, just a quic...

Junk Miles In Paradise: August 2014
http://jasonhynd.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Junk Miles In Paradise. Tuesday, August 19, 2014. HURT 100 Mile Training Plan (take 2, part 1)! But there's no way that the little guy is going to help me improve, unless some new study shows that lack of sleep and less free time makes runners faster. Anyone else out there in a similar boat? I'm thinking yes. We mortals that sit behind a desk wishing we were able to run FKT's for a living! So what's the plan? This is only part 1! Hit the road again later to up the training impulse. I like to take my ...

http://lifeandtherun.blogspot.com/2012/08/well-cascade-is-over-and-boy-is-it.html
Life and the Run. The marathon of life is just that: you never know what will come to face you in the next mile. Live it, push through, enjoy it, love it, reflect on it, and welcome each and every step. Just as in life, you never know when you may get to experience this run again. Tuesday, August 28, 2012. I don't know what it was, but NOTHING about finishing White River or Cascade Crest while I was out there excited me. Silly to even start huh? God these miles are not going by! How am I going to do 67 m...

Junk Miles In Paradise. Saturday, October 25, 2014. Race Report: Peacock 100k 2014: Defending the title. My heart pounded and my head was spinning. Sweat poured off the brim of my hat and into my eyes. My legs, usually springy and strong, were made of cement, and I willed them into a fast cadence. 'I WANT THIS! I muttered under my breath, as my watch clicked off mile 55 and showed 15,000 feet of climbing accomplished. Just seven to go! Thanks to Kalani Pascual for taking this shot! The intent of this blo...

Junk Miles In Paradise: Shoe Reviews! Hoka Conquest review, and Hoka Rapa Nui review.
http://jasonhynd.blogspot.com/2014/08/shoe-reviews-hoka-conquest-review-and.html
Junk Miles In Paradise. Sunday, August 3, 2014. Hoka Conquest review, and Hoka Rapa Nui review. First the Rapa Nui. It's like a more svelt Stinson, and for me that's good, because I had trouble with the Stinson's large footprint and my narrow stride (too narrow? The tread seems to be a good compromise for most trail conditions and the occasional road section (important here in Hawaii as I'll often connect very technical and/or muddy trails with sections of road). Uppers are not slipper-fit, but are c...

Junk Miles In Paradise: What the heck happened to the running?
http://jasonhynd.blogspot.com/2014/08/what-heck-happened-to-running.html
Junk Miles In Paradise. Saturday, August 9, 2014. What the heck happened to the running? I'd run one mile feeling fine, then suddenly hardly able to walk. My knee even buckled while walking a couple of times! Training is going to have to be smart though. We have a baby coming in September, and that is sure to be a limit. One that I'm happy for! I won't be running 100 miles per week, but I'm going to show that I can run with the best at half that! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
