Beyond Upstate: snow tires!
http://beyondupstate.blogspot.com/2008/12/snow-tires.html
For everyone who thought "upstate" meant Poughkeepsie. Sunday, December 7, 2008. Hooray - who knew buying snow tires could be exciting? Usually, I hate spending money on my car. It's one of those things, like dish soap and toilet paper, that should never run out or demand attention. So yay snow tires. But yay even more for the guy - Art - who got them for me. Art owns a used car lot and garage in the village and he's really a nice guy. It was so sweet of him - just made my day. The north country, NY.

Life at the Zoo: 5 Months
http://erinandylifeatthezoo.blogspot.com/2012/06/5-months.html
Friday, June 22, 2012. Penny is 5 months old already! And I'm so late writing this she will be 6 months soon. There doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day anymore. Between working and taking care of this little one and all our furry friends, life is certainly hectic. We spend a week on Cape Cod earlier in the month. It was a bit cold, but we had a great time. My parents came and Andy's dad so we had lots of baby care help, which was great! It has taken me all day to write this post! Life at the Zoo.

Life at the Zoo: 6 months
http://erinandylifeatthezoo.blogspot.com/2012/07/6-months.html
Monday, July 16, 2012. Holy cow. This kid is 6 months old already! Half a year has passes since she was born. Andy and I joke all the time that having a baby is like the ultimate science experiment. All the amazing changes she has gone through have been fascinating to watch. She can sit up on her own now, eats all kinds of mushy food, laughs constantly, recognizes us in a crowd of people, and that smile! It kills me daily. It melts my heart and makes my soul soar at the same time. Life at the Zoo.

Life at the Zoo: Coming up on a year...
http://erinandylifeatthezoo.blogspot.com/2012/12/coming-up-on-year.html
Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Coming up on a year. Excuse me while I wipe the dust off this blog! It's been a crazy, busy, fun, exhausting, exciting, chaotic, lovely, wonderful few months. I swear this kid grows every day. She is crawling all over the place, pulling herself up on everything, trying to walk, climb and destroy every inch of our house! The animals are not so sure about this new, mobile baby. She follows them around, tries to play with them, steal their toys, and pull their tails! Lots of ra...

Life at the Zoo: Babies & Bunnies
http://erinandylifeatthezoo.blogspot.com/2013/03/babies-bunnies.html
Sunday, March 17, 2013. So we didn't end up bringing home the new bunny. The day care decided to keep him there for a while longer. We told them to let us know if they ever change their minds! He is a really sweet rabbit. But we did find a great way to help Pumpkin get some exercise! Being chased by a baby seems to keep her on the move! Notice Guinevere just lays there watching until Penny tries to touch her! March 17, 2013 at 11:09 PM. Perhaps it is really Pumpkin exercising the baby :). Life at the Zoo.

Beyond Upstate: Scarecrows ... or BUDDYcrows??
http://beyondupstate.blogspot.com/2008/10/scarecrows-or-buddycrows_07.html
For everyone who thought "upstate" meant Poughkeepsie. Tuesday, October 7, 2008. Scarecrows . or BUDDYcrows? Needless to say, I was amused. And curious. And then life got in the way and I forgot all about it. Then that farm and I crossed paths again, and I stopped to see what was going on. In addition to a great story, I met some of the kindest people I've ever met in my life. The next week, Andy called me to thank me for coming out and talking to them. He then told me that I should consider myself a...

Beyond Upstate: Becoming Amish
http://beyondupstate.blogspot.com/2008/11/becoming-amish.html
For everyone who thought "upstate" meant Poughkeepsie. Tuesday, November 11, 2008. The north country is slowly turning me Amish. Not because I want to suddenly live without electricity, cars or indoor plumbing. Not because I regularly see Amish buggies driving around. This is not conversion by choice, folks. Where I'm from, shopping is what we do. Bored out of your mind with nothing going on? Easy - go to the mall and blow $45 at H&M on things you don't really. Lots of glorious stores. To explore. No...
