quilts, etc.: camo commission
http://shawnadoering.blogspot.com/2011/04/camo-commission.html
Wednesday, April 13. A good friend of mine recently wanted a quilt for his nephew's first birthday, but informed me that the quilts i had available were nowhere tough enough for the little guy. So, we came up with a different plan. my friend donated some of his camo from his first days as an outfitter. there's lots of sentimental value and memories attached to the garments that will now be immortalized in the form of a quilt for the next generation. I put the nerdy bert label inside the pocket. I also us...

http://shawnadoering.blogspot.com/2011/09/thursday-thought-im-really-busy.html
Thursday, September 15. Thursday thought - i'm really busy. Yep this is my thought today (and every day for the last couple weeks). I sat down with a good friend, who happens to be really great at organization, and we wrote out all the things i need to do with my time. we included class time, homework time, feeding myself, showering, etc. I was glad to know i actually have enough time for it all. Thank goodness for the support of great friends! September 18, 2011 at 11:01 PM. Vol IV (part 2). In my spare...

quilts, etc.: turning 30 project - vol. II
http://shawnadoering.blogspot.com/2010/07/turning-30-project-vol-ii.html
Saturday, July 24. Turning 30 project - vol. II. On with the project. here is a list of what i wanted for the quilts:. I wanted to create the design myself. I wanted each quilt to contain a piece of everyones fabric. I wanted each quilt to have it's own personality; to be an expression of it's owner. I wanted the design to be fun and modern. I took my inspiration from Freddy Moran and Gwen Marston's books "Collaborative Quilting" and "Freddy and Gwen Collaborate Again". Lol as the quilts get finished and...

quilts, etc.: space frames
http://shawnadoering.blogspot.com/2010/11/space-frames.html
Wednesday, November 17. Here's the latest and greatest. My cubes are interlocking. the yellow one has one leg that locks around a leg of the pink one. otherwise, they are not attached so they are able to be arranged in different ways depending on which corner they are hung from. i used two colors to differentiate the two cubes from each other. I've never dealt with installation art before but it was a fun experience and i'm proud to walk by my work when i'm at school. November 17, 2010 at 9:27 PM. My pur...
