Pashfish: Journey to Israel
http://pashfish.blogspot.com/2014/02/journey-to-israel.html
My space to aggregate. Thursday, 27 February 2014. Travelling today to Israel has meant an early start. At least I'm not driving. I'm not sure what I am expecting yet. Absorbing some of the place, worshipping with Christians and hopefully understanding some of the challenges that christians face in this part of the world. I must also say as the rain has been pouring down, that some sunshine will be nice too, l have brought my running gear in expectation! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Pashfish: November 2013
http://pashfish.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
My space to aggregate. Tuesday, 19 November 2013. The day the "world changed" was not September 11th but way back in 33AD. The most significant event in our pasts is not our most shameful transgressions but the death and resurrection of Jesus. Our pasts are defined not by our sins but by Christ's victory. God's story is the lens through which we understand our current world." (Shane Claiborne, Common Prayer: A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals). Here's a link to the companion website for the book. I am a hus...

Pashfish: January 2012
http://pashfish.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
My space to aggregate. Tuesday, 31 January 2012. God's View of a Woman Beyond Evangelical The Blog of Frank Viola. Thought some of my friends at college may like to have a read of this:. God's View of a Woman Beyond Evangelical The Blog of Frank Viola. God's view of men and women is far bigger than our own. I think often we miss it, we concentrate on Jesus being a carpenter for men, that being a man is all about being good at sport and diy, or being a woman is all about being good at craft. But I have no...

Pashfish: November 2011
http://pashfish.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
My space to aggregate. Tuesday, 8 November 2011. A couple of weeks ago we had to argue for either monologue or dialogue for preaching. Now my stance is there is no such thing as a true monologue in a sermon because:. The preacher is in a dialogue with God. Prayer and mediation on the verse are part of this after all as we read the scriptures we too are challenged. As no preacher is an island (to borrow from About a Boy. Reading commentaries etc is engaging with other voices too. I was naked and you gave ...

Pashfish: Just another day?
http://pashfish.blogspot.com/2014/02/just-another-day.html
My space to aggregate. Friday, 28 February 2014. Today was a surprise to me, it was quite emotional . I'll talk about that another time. As you walk around you are surrounded by stone. Buildings are built out of it, you walk on it, sit on it, and it shelters you from the sun. We saw the Jewish cemetery with the piles of stones to remember the dead, and I thought about the stones which were picked up to stone Jesus. Feel free to comment you do not have to sign in to do so. Catching the [fish] moment.

Pashfish: September 2012

My space to aggregate. Thursday, 27 September 2012. The one treat I have indulged in is a coffee machine (thanks M&D). I think it is going through the ritual of making a coffee which is satisfying. Grinding the beans, and smelling the fresh grinds, running the water through the system twice. Brewing the coffee the aroma rising and then steaming the milk. It cannot be rushed or you end up with a luke-warm coffee. Coffee drinks illustrated - Lokesh Dhakar. Links to this post. Tuesday, 25 September 2012.

Pashfish: February 2015
http://pashfish.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
My space to aggregate. Wednesday, 25 February 2015. I have been on placement this week, and having completed my Common Purpose course (more on that another time), I thought I would take a look at some local charities and see where the church, public, private and not for profit organisations work together. You can never have too many books just look at my house:. On Monday I spent time with BOOKAID. In Ranskill, I bought some books too:. Vol 1 and 2 of Simon Shama's History of Britain. If you think this i...

Pashfish: September 2013
http://pashfish.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
My space to aggregate. Friday, 20 September 2013. I am not a great runner, i just took up running to give me head space and for general fitness. Yet since I have started I have caught the bug. I love it but now I am hitting the point where I am looking at ways of improving my running by tracking what I do and getting comfortable in my running. You can learn from my mistakes! So it is a case of spending lots of money? Well no, I started with an ordinary pair of trainers with a pair of trainer socks. So fa...
