Some tales of often eclectic adventures. 3500sq/f to 35 linear…. Cold clear mornings. →. Baking at home so maybe one day we can afford one…. November 9, 2014. So we like to eat, and we kind of like cooking. We are also becoming increasingly frugal. First off, it’s ridiculous how much a loaf of artisanal bread costs. I mean, granted, the house thing is worse but seriously there better be more than a few bits of dried fruit in there if you’re going to charge north of $7! When you consider how much it costs...

WHITNEY WINTERS: May 2014
http://whitneywinters.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
News from the Whitney crew home base in the Coast Mountains of B.C. Canada. Monday, May 26, 2014. We sailed less than 10NM south into Dublin Bay and tied up overnight at the Dun Laoghaire (pronounced Doon Leary) Marina. Interesting to note this is a huge marina inside an artificial harbour built over 100 years ago to provide a safe refuge for sailing ships that would otherwise get embayed in Dublin Bay (and go aground on the rocks). The project was massive, especially in those days. '. Latitude = 53°...

News from the Whitney crew home base in the Coast Mountains of B.C. Canada. Monday, January 27, 2014. January conditions in our ski resort have been rather warm and dry, except for a few stormy days mid-month which brought us about 70cm of fresh snow. Late afternoon on the slopes. Lack of snow not only limited our alpine skiing options, it also meant the cross-country trails did not open until we finally had snow in mid-January. Mariners like to say: red sky at night, sailors delight.

WHITNEY WINTERS: Winter is coming.....
http://whitneywinters.blogspot.com/2013/11/winter-is-coming.html
News from the Whitney crew home base in the Coast Mountains of B.C. Canada. Wednesday, November 27, 2013. Winter has not yet arrived in the valley but the ski runs are starting to look good, at least from our home deck. Frost formations on the glass around our deck. We have enjoyed a few frosty mornings, but only once shoveled the driveway in the month of November. We opted to stay home on opening day but went skiing a few days later. Look who we found our first day up. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Former wanderer of the world. Now, not so much. Unfinished Books in 2015. Review: Orange is the New Black. The 63rd book I finished this year was certainly among the most intriguing. I never had much interest in the show of the same name, and only added the book to my library wish list after watching Pablo Schreiber as Lewis in SVU Season 15. Some 700 people later, my turn came up in the waiting list and I figured. I’d just finished the really good (review TK). Continue reading →. And tagged book review.

Travelling Cat | "An adventure?… ALPACA MY BAGS"
8230; ALPACA MY BAGS. February 20, 2014. Travelling is an experience that I believe everyone should encounter at least once in his or her lifetime. It pushes you out of your comfort zone and it makes you find attributes in yourself that you never knew existed. It is about breaking out of everyday life, learning about yourself, finding new perspectives and growing as a person. How has travelling changed my perception? How have I grown? Before I started to travel one of my biggest flaws (and probably like ...
