Travels with Bliss

Friday, January 16, 2015. How did you train Bliss to do that? Every day, someone asks me how I got Bliss to "do that," whether it's basic obedience, amazing tricks or even sporting a pair of sunglasses! What motivates your dog most? Usually it is food, but toys and praise are two more motivators to put in your training toolbox. Travels with Bliss: February 2014

http://travelswithbliss.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Thursday, February 6, 2014. Has anyone ever told you that your dog acts totally depressed when you leave? I get that all the time. In fact, friends say that Bliss just lays by the door when I'm gone, as if her life has ended. Just to drive the point home, he did the same experiment by knocking on the front door. Sure enough, when I'm there she can't bark loud enough, but when I'm not there, she's quiet as a mouse. Here's the official "Bliss Experiment" video: https:/ vimeo.com/65847660.

Travels with Bliss: November 2013

http://travelswithbliss.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Saturday, November 30, 2013. My Dog Is Fat! This is what Bliss is supposed to look like. I didn't have the heart to post a picture of her fat. My dog Bliss is one of the 54% of US pets suffering from obesity. That's a real problem for me since I love to give her treats (and she loves to get them for herself at my local PetCo. Baldwin. He died a couple years ago (and I am still not over it) after experiencing all sorts of health problems, (not associated with his weight) including diabetes. But she'll eat...

Travels with Bliss: December 2013

http://travelswithbliss.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Thursday, December 5, 2013. The most outrageous holiday gifts for dogs. I'll admit it.I am one of those crazy pet guardians who will do anything for their pooch. Bliss has an entire wardrobe of clothes she wears to visit the children at. County USC Medical Center. I take her on at least 3 walks a day. I have made arrangements to work form home so I can be with her. I take her everywhere I go. First off, a pet bowl from Versace Barocco. What about the $3.2 million diamond-encrusted dog collar. I will say ...

Travels With Birds

Tuesday, 11 August 2015. Red-footed Falcon in Staffordshire, England. I have just returned from a birding trip to the UK and have begun the task of downloading and editing almost 1,500 pictures. When that is all done I will begin to write my trip report, but in the meantime this species deserves its own coverage. A Red-footed Falcon Falco vespertinus. The bird found the piles of horse manure convenient perches and the manure probably also attracted the insects upon which this species feeds. I am indebted...

Just another WordPress.com site. Home at last…. Chicago is having a record warm spell. We’ve had several days in the 80s that broke long-standing records for high temperature. I even got in 9 holes of golf on Thursday and Roberta and I were able to walk in the nearby park and eat lunch today on our porch! We’re busy washing and putting away the stuff we took on the trip. But things are getting back to normal. So I’ll be taking a break from blogging at least until I have a new topic. In Philipsburg it’s a...

Currently in Thailand -- Travels With Bob - Robert Lorimor's Asia Photography

Why must I travel to Asia? It's because I never know what I might see along the way. At least that's why I travel. I am always looking around the next corner to see what is there. Sometimes I am totally surprised by what I find. Come along as we roll along on the railroads in Thailand. or as we explore the market bazaars in the Philippines. or as we drive the dusty country roads in Iowa. Come along and see what you are missing. Bangkok, Thailand - 1998. Site designed and developed.
