Up the Hill, Down the Hill, Repeat. Hiking the Appalachian Trail. Saturday, May 30, 2015. Made it to Damascus, Va! Crazy crazy.we made it 18.5 miles in one day, and 75 miles in basically 5 days! Intense hike. It was the usual nasty finish to drop in to town, down off the mountain. About a mile of steep drop! We came out into town and stumbled through a park, found the rest of the team sprawled by a river, eating Doritoes! We went and sat in the stream, cooling the dogs. Almost indescribably glorious!
