Just Trivial: March 2011
http://theeubanksfamily.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Because the content is often trivial, and I tend to overuse the word "Just". Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Monday, March 7, 2011. I'm assuming that my last post really left you craving to hear me talk about myself more (joking). But, alas, a few thoughts to share, in no particular order:. Just finished reading The Good Daughter. By Jasmin Darsnik. The subtitle is "A Memoir of My Mother's Hidden Life." Great book! For Lent I plan to fast in the afternoons. I suppose it's not so much a fast as it is "giving ...

Orchard Musings: God Light in a Gilded Cage
http://orchardmusings.blogspot.com/2015/08/god-light-in-gilded-cage.html
Ramblings of a Farm girl, mostly for her own amusement. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. God Light in a Gilded Cage. I've heard a child named this "God light.". I like that. There's a good reminder of the. God-light shining on our little corner of the world right now. God light is good stuff to feel the presence of when you're feeling a bit like this drippy bird, just clinging to a twig in a deluge, trying your best to keep a few dry feathers. But all the while, still knowing that at least you've still got wings.

Just Trivial: Happy Campers
http://theeubanksfamily.blogspot.com/2011/08/happy-campers.html
Because the content is often trivial, and I tend to overuse the word "Just". Sunday, August 21, 2011. You may or may not remember last year's Trip to the Mountains. We wanted to camp overnight at Big Basin, but we ended up packing up at 11pm and heading home with our screaming mad daughter and completely disappointed boys. It was time to attempt real camping again (more than a mere trip to the mountains), so last weekend we headed to the same spot for a one night stay. Glad it was fun. Soul Sista, part I.

Just Trivial: Another Glimpse
http://theeubanksfamily.blogspot.com/2011/02/another-glimpse.html
Because the content is often trivial, and I tend to overuse the word "Just". Friday, February 25, 2011. Once again, regular blogging has fallen by the wayside! I am making no New Year resolution to blog more, but here I am trying to start off the new year right, as far as blogging is concerned, anyway. [Hmm, that concerted effort didn't last very long, considering that I began drafting this post on 1/7/11, and now it is 2/25 and I'm just now getting around to finishing and posting.]. Yesterday Caleb brou...

Just Trivial: Kindergarten Begins!
http://theeubanksfamily.blogspot.com/2010/08/kindergarten-begins.html
Because the content is often trivial, and I tend to overuse the word "Just". Friday, August 20, 2010. Today was Caleb's first official day of kindergarten. He only went for an hour, but who's counting? He was pretty apprehensive ahead of time, but when we picked him up and we asked him how he felt about his time at school he exclaimed, "I LOVED it! He is looking forward to Monday. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Dogs on the Brain. Old Salt Farm Christmas Home Tour 2016. THOUGHTS FROM MY JOURNEY.

Because the content is often trivial, and I tend to overuse the word "Just". Monday, September 20, 2010. Riting Haz Nevr Bin Funr. I am LOVING the stage Caleb is in right now, where he is writing words according to the sounds he hears, but with little knowledge of advanced phonics. It's so cute to see him writing this way, especially when it is combined with his inexperience with writing in straight lines and using spaces between words. Below is the cover of the Darth Vader story he wrote the other night.

Orchard Musings: Hermione Bag
http://orchardmusings.blogspot.com/2015/07/hermione-bag.html
Ramblings of a Farm girl, mostly for her own amusement. Thursday, July 23, 2015. Hermione Granger and her beaded bag with undetectible extension charm has met her match. I mean, seriously. Is there anything this bag CAN'T fit? Pictured are the more "typical finds" I haul around on a daily basis. NOT pictured are the "extras" I sometimes haul, like a change of clothes for myself, a bag (or two) of food, DSLR camera, random toys for kids, flashlight, and sunblock. The list is pretty fascinating:. Something...

Orchard Musings: Night-Hiking (My Story, Version 3)
http://orchardmusings.blogspot.com/p/my-story.html
Ramblings of a Farm girl, mostly for her own amusement. Night-Hiking (My Story, Version 3). Working at the children's camp where I met my husband (as a camper, but that's another part of the story), we used to lead night hikes. The idea is wonderful- get kids out, in the dark, where they can learn to rely on underdeveloped senses to "see" the world differently, and might even have the chance to see the. But oh, how I dreaded these hikes! My "big story" would have been that I recovered completely from the...
