Past and future wanderings of a travel bug . . .

Saturday, January 28, 2012. A Ticket to Nowhere.Exploring the Expansion at the EIA. I got up and out of the house early (for a Saturday) and headed to the Edmonton International Airport. This probably doesn't sound particularly unusual after all this is meant to be a travel blog so surely I've been to my local airport before. True enough. Usually however I go to airport because I am going somewhere or at the very least picking someone up. Today however this was not the case. Headed to the U.S.A! There is...

Past and future wanderings of a travel bug . . .: November 2011

http://wanderingsofatravelbug.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Friday, November 11, 2011. A Time to Honour and Remember all Veterans and Those Who Still Serve. Remembrance Day is important to me. I'm not a religious person so today trumps even Christmas. As a Canadian I am free to travel with little restriction to many places in the world. For this I am ever thankful. I've had the opportunity to travel to many places significant in past conflicts and the older I get the more important I find this day. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Past and future wanderings of a travel bug . . .: Job Opportunity of a Lifetime

http://wanderingsofatravelbug.blogspot.com/2010/11/job-opportunity-of-lifetime.html

Sunday, November 7, 2010. Job Opportunity of a Lifetime. Find a job you enjoy and you'll never work a day in your life. The Job Opportunity of a Lifetime! Who wants a free trip? That I was planning on applying for Transat Holidays Vacationer Wanted. I can't resist even though I love the job I have now. Why? The reality is this job will be work some days too but I am sure the fantastic days will far outweigh the rough ones. Twelve trips in twelve months to some fabulous locales sure sounds good to me!

Past and future wanderings of a travel bug . . .: January 2011

http://wanderingsofatravelbug.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Wednesday, January 19, 2011. I have to admit that 2011 has gotten off to a bit of a slow start. My internet presence has been negligible and real life has taken over. Since December my focus has been the holidays, family, friends and work. I had hoped for a winter getaway but instead stayed home and shoveled snow. A lot of snow- I haven't seen a winter like this since I was small. Head over to Spunkygirl Monologues. There are many other great sites as well! The new year is still pretty bright and shiny a...

Past and future wanderings of a travel bug . . .: Road Trip: The Sequel!

http://wanderingsofatravelbug.blogspot.com/2010/11/road-trip-sequel.html

Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Road Trip: The Sequel! Maligne Lake, Jasper National Park. West Go west. I love the west. As I mentioned in a previous post,. Which is good for 27 National Parks and 77 National Historic Sites in Canada. Travelling from Edmonton you will reach the park gates in about 3.5 hours and the town of Jasper. After about 4 hours. The Town of Jasper from the top of the tramway. Boat Cruise on Maligne Lake. Unfortunately for my friend Sarah, not all of her trip went as planned and she ...

Wednesday, May 19, 2010. I've been remiss.readjusting to life at home after a year abroad. So for now my travel plans aren't big ones but that doesn't mean they still can't be fun ones. A long weekend road trip is first up and then I am hoping for at least a couple of short camping trips over the summer. Who knows what the summer will bring? Vote for us one last time on May 20th, 2010 to get our names in to win a trip to video blog in sunny California! To go to the page to vote click this link. I current...

wanderings of an inner landscape

Wanderings of an inner landscape. Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Nying thak pa nay thuk ji che. The beauty of this one majestic moment cannot be overlooked. For the only honorable thing to do with that which is sacred. Is to give it away, freely. Do not protest enlightenment. For it serves no purpose to shrink your own brilliance. My own brilliance, I guess. I am to speak only from my own experience. I experience a cortisol-lowering relaxation in my sympathetic nervous system. No, not this time. Maybe th...

Wanderings of an Itinerant Mind

Wanderings of an Itinerant Mind. Thursday, August 13, 2015. The Dart theory and Mind control. I am pasting below an excerpt from a very good article by Mr Nate Klemp. You can find in this link. When things are good, the waves are calm, peaceful, and uplifting. When things get crazy, the waves become scary and chaotic. We cannot change these thought waves. On this view, the best we can do is learn to surrender to them – to shift from resistance to acceptance. Here’s Hanson’s big insight &#8211...You can d...

Wanderings of a Rotary Kid

Wanderings of a Rotary Kid. Friday, January 2, 2015. A Latin American Year. None of my adventures were what I expected, but each were good in so many different ways. This year, I've visited 5 new countries: Guatemala, Peru, Chile, Bolivia, and Argentina. Each has been exciting and interesting in it's own ways, but Guatemala and Peru rest the closest to my heart, for the obvious reason of having spent much more time there. Monday, December 29, 2014. A Sunday Antiques Market. The city has not exactly lived...

Wanderings of a Swing Dancer

Wanderings of a Swing Dancer. Koh Larn, Thailand. Friday, September 11, 2015. Not welcome home, just back. Home is relative, and as an expat, my heart will forever have a home in multiple places of the world. So welcome back me, to the good ol' U.S.A. It's been a little over two months since we last talked. Gosh, where do I start? Where did I end? When that moment to part ways came, it finally hit me. I was leaving. Saying goodbye is hard for everyone I think, and I am definitely in this group&#4...Curre...

Wanderings of a Tactless Mind

Sunday, April 5, 2015. Constant theme.but Im back! TIt's been a while.but I think that after my blogging hiatus, it's time to get back into the swing of things. I can't promise to be consistent, but I will try my hardest to post interesting goings on, random thoughts and maybe even some intellectual, thought provoking items going forward. I hope the hiatus has found you well, that you have managed to thrive in this crazy world and that you are on a path to being happy and healthy. First, to any mother wh...

Wanderings of a Young Man. Light-hearted tales of one man's global adventures. Is that really your name? Photos from the Amazon Rainforest. San Francisco in Photos. Why Bus Journeys Are Never Long Enough. I love bus journeys. Whether it’s getting from Venice Beach to downtown LA on a city bus with bilingual schizophrenic homeless people, or a 30-hour cramped coach journey down the coast of Chile, I love every second. wanderings (and wonderings) - "Adventure should be part of everyone’s life. It is the whole difference between being fully alive and just existing." Holly Morris

Adventure should be part of everyone’s life. It is the whole difference between being fully alive and just existing. Holly Morris. Wow How is our trip already almost over? The first few days seemed to go somewhat slowly, but now I just want time to slow down! The shepherd requested 10 Dirham for taking photos of their goats, and we continued on to our first coastal stop, Agadir. We stopped at a lookout point with SUCH amazing views of the ocean; only slightly tainted by the men trying to get you to ride ...
