He wasn't interested in a wet suit. I love this picture of him completely off the ground. Is my sunscreen rubbed in? John's not the only one who makes weird faces in pictures. At least his was intentional! Landon throwing sand at Kaylee and Kaylee shoving Landon out of a picture. So typical. Guardians of the bathroom?

Grandma and Grandpa bought him a complete uniform for his birthday and he was super excited to start earning awards. Some of the bigger events that have taken place thus far include . . . She had a fabulous evening dancing under the stars. A woman in our ward offered her hair fixing skills to our young women. Pretty! A happy camper, but the awesome thing about Landon is that usually after the initial upset he finds a silver lining. Once he was done being sad/mad he decided he liked his ribbon better than the medal. A couple of weeks...

Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened. Dr. Seuss. Thursday, August 6, 2015. Ocean Beach and Tide Pools. Okay, on to more pleasant things, like how much fun we had this summer! After picnicking at Moss Beach we went exploring. We missed low tide by a couple of hours so we didn't see a whole lot, but there were a bunch of harbor seals on the beach. Landon and Kaylee were thrilled when they witnessed a baby seal scoot into the water after lounging on the sand. I vote WASHINGTON STATE!

We took advantage of the much nicer California weather while we were away this summer and spent a lot of time outdoors. One day we were just needing to get the kids out of the house, so we drove to Sunol. It was actually pretty hot that day. One of the kiddos was not very happy about hiking in the heat. It's hard to believe they have already started their second nine weeks. Ainsley started 8th grade. Kaylee started 5th grade. This past weekend was the Texas Book Festival. One of Ainsley's many favorite authors (Shannon Hale) was there reading from a new book (a really cute kids book called The Princess in Black. Friday, October 10, 2014.
