Northumberland Inn Way 2008: Day 6 - Cragside House and Gardens
http://northumberlandinnway.blogspot.com/2008/10/day-6-cragside-house-and-gardens.html
Northumberland Inn Way 2008. 94 Miles, 48 Pubs. Day 6 - Cragside House and Gardens. We decided to take another day off walking the route. We had originally thought we would visit Cragside House and Gardens in Rothbury at the end of the walk, but after realising it is closed on Mondays we had to change our plan. Cragside was originally built as a holiday home and later extended to become his main residence. It was the first house to be powered by electricity, generated using water power. After lunch we co...

Another Suffolk Blog: September 2008
http://anothersuffolkblog.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 27, 2008. Orford - Castle and Ness. For a change this is a post about somewhere in Suffolk on my Suffolk Blog. Last weekend we took advantage of the great weather that's finally arrived and went for a day out to Orford. Here we were able to use our memberships in both the National Trust and English Heritage all in one day. We started out by going to the displays about the history of the area which is inside one of the old military buildings. The second trail we followed took us out to...

Another Suffolk Blog: October 2008
http://anothersuffolkblog.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 20, 2008. With the perfect autumn weather we took a trip at the weekend to visit another nearby National Trust site - Anglesey Abbey near to Cambridge. Although the house looked lovely, we decided to miss this out today. With our NT membership we find that we tend to be more relaxed about visiting places and don't feel we have to rush and try to fit everything in. Lots of leaves on the ground too which were great to rustle through. A final shot which is now on the background of my computer.

This time it's the turn of "The Inn Way. to the Yorkshire Dales" which we walked back in May this year. It's taken a while to get around to writing it up, mostly due to the other holidays we've been on since then, so you can look forward to future reports from:. The Inn Way. to Northumberland. But for now, please redirect yourselves to:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Position birthday presents of:. 1 x Tin bath. 1 x Watering can. 1 x Copper pipe. 1 x Bag of stones. 1 x Solar powered pump. Tuesday, October 09, 2007. As the weather was reasonable and we had spent the weekend indoors completing our Inn Way report (yes it's finished! To read all 9 days and recommended B&B's in the Lake District) we decided to get outside and find a few geocaches. Again the name contain...

Pembrokeshire Coast Path 2007: Day 4 - Trefin to St Davids
http://pembrokeshirecoastpath.blogspot.com/2008/02/day-4-trefin-to-st-davids.html
Pembrokeshire Coast Path 2007. Day 4 - Trefin to St Davids. Saturday 7th July 2007. 15 miles, 8 hours. It was another bright sunny day, and with less distance to cover it meant that we could take our time and enjoy it to the full. We left our B&B at about 9.45 taking the footpath across the fields to rejoin the coast path at the lower end of Trefin. There were bright clear views back to the North. The path follows a well maintained track along the cliff top, passing Porth Egr and Traeth Llyfn. The Penlle...

Pembrokeshire Coast Path 2007. Day 12 - Bosherston to Penally. Sunday 15th July 2007. 16 miles, 9 hours (including visit to Manorbier Castle). We set off from Bosherston at about 9.30 and headed back down to the lily ponds. Crossing the bridge at the northern end enabled us to follow opposite side of the pool down to Broad Haven beach. We soon reached Barafundle bay which was another lovely sandy beach and was almost completely deserted. With our rucksacks on we left heavy footprints in the sand. As we a...

Thursday, November 20, 2008. New walk report added. Over on the side there - - - -. Pictures and report on Hadrian's Wall path. Is finished. The next report is already underway, the Cumbria Way, which we walked straight after Hadrian's Wall (the two link together nicely). My mom and I have wanted to walk the wall for ages - i'll definitely point her to your site! 20 November 2008 at 10:40. I would really recommend it. There's so much to see, and the variety in countryside is wonderful.

Friday, July 25, 2008. With the ducks having left home, we are now enjoying watching some nocturnal visitors to the garden. Last year we saw loads of hedgehogs around, so we put out some shelters for them to hibernate in over winter. They are now back again, and this year we're ready for them with a camera!
